Kellyanne Conway's husband lambasts 'stable genius' Trump on Twitter and retweets link to DOJ indictment of 12 Russians

Presidential counselor Kellyanne Conway's husband isn't pulling any punches when it comes to his wife's boss.

George Conway - a longtime critic of Donald Trump - retweeted a Politico story with the headline 'European leaders do not think Trump is a stable genius' and wrote: 'What could possibly make them think that.'

Over the next few hours on Friday afternoon the attorney shared several tweets about the Department of Justice's indictment of 12 Russians for campaign hacking in the 2016 presidential election.

Meanwhile Kellyanne kept to her usual programming, retweeting support for Trump's Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh.

The Politico article retweeted by George referenced Trump's comment calling himself a 'very stable genius' after attending the NATO summit in Brussels this week.

The president had thrown a wrench into summit proceedings by reportedly threatening to pull out if the other member countries didn't increase contributions to defense spending.

He later held a news conference where he reaffirmed America's commitment to NATO - and took credit for an increase in defense contributions that was actually agreed upon in 2014.

After the summit he flew up to the UK to meet with British Prime Minister Teresa May as well as Queen Elizabeth II.

His arrival was met with massive protests across London and the UK, including a 'baby Trump' blimp that flew over the capital.

On Friday afternoon while Trump was meeting with the Queen, the DOJ released its indictment of 12 Russians who played a role in hacking the Democratic National Committee and Hillary Clinton's campaign during the 2016 election.

The president responded on Twitter, blasting the 'Deep State' and blaming President Obama for efforts the authorities say were meant to muddy his own rival Clinton. 'The stories you heard about the 12 Russians yesterday took place during the Obama Administration, not the Trump Administration,' Trump tweeted.

'Why didn't they do something about it, especially when it was reported that President Obama was informed by the FBI in September, before the Election?'

In another tweet, Trump asked: 'Where is the DNC Server, and why didn't the FBI take possession of it? Deep State?’

The ‘Deep State’ is a conspiracy theory that suggests high-level officials run a shadow government working against Trump.

George Conway shared a tweet in response to the president's comments in which journalist Josh Kraushaar wrote: 'Rod Rosenstein: "When we confront foreign interference in our elections, we must not address the issue as Republicans or Democrats, but instead as patriotic Americans."'

George is a high-profile lawyer who was once on the shortlist for US solicitor general in the Trump administration - but it's become clear that he would not have been a good fit given his negative opinions of the president.

Back in May he took another shot at Trump regarding the $130,000 that Trump's former personal attorney, Michael Cohen, paid to porn star Stormy Daniels in exchange for her silence.

The 54-year-old suggested that the payment was in violation of the Federal Election Commission's rules, tweeting a screenshot from the agency's website that explained funding stipulations.

George's public criticisms of the president have made things inconvenient for his wife Kellyanne, who has worked at the president's counsel since he took office.

When asked about her husband's opinions during an April CNN interview, Kellyanne responded aggressively, asserting that the question was sexist. 'It’s fascinating to me that CNN would go there. But it’s very good for the whole world to have just witnessed,' Conway told host Dana Bash.

'It’s now fair game what people’s — how people’s spouses and significant others may differ with them. I’m really surprised, but very, in some ways, relieved and gratified to see that.'

All news about Trump is not necessarily good news. But why didn't Obummer's Justice Department do a thing about the Russians before the election?

But why didn't Obummer's Justice Department do a thing about the Russians before the election?

Because Her Royal Thighness was going to be installed, of course.

Best laid plans of mice and men.

And now Trump is in and he undid all of Obummer's unlawful Executive Orders. ;)
