Brer' has been less than honest in his dealings with the people on this forum.

He has falsely attributed quotes, feelings and beliefs to people and then attacked people for for the stawmen that he himself hung on them.

He has mischaracterized material posted by others and then attacked the poster on the basis of this strawman.

In addition, he lacks basic social skills. He seems incapable of participating in rational discussion without resorting to sneers and other nasty tactics. As far as I can see, there has been almost no rational debate out of the guy. As I noted on a thread this evening, he contributes nothing and causes problems.

Should Brer' be tossed out on his butt or should he stay as the troll punching bag for the site?

All input will be appreciated.

As long as his call to violence and hateful racist statments are not left unchallenged then i agree that more freedom is good. I completely ignore Brer' but i do worry that if his statements are not countered (there is no point in arguing with him because he lacks the mental ability to process info that he doesn't agree with)then he could taint this forum with his racism/calls to violence and general idiocy and we'd all look somewhat guilty by association.

I wouldn't want Brer' or anyone else banned because their ideas are unpopular or even repugnant, but with Brer' it seems he doesn't really engage in dialogue or defend his views, he just rants and i don't think this forum should be a one-way soap box for especially repugnant views, esp those that call for violent action against what Brer' considers his enemies.

It's a fine line and a hard call, but i have confidence in Zip and Christine to do the right thing. And in any case, i will continue to ignore him.

Maybe I missed some of this, but you all seem to tolerate me to a point and I'm no angel either.

It depends what kind of violence you are calling for I suppose. With me, I have a very hard time with insolent, disobedient public servants. I think when one of them gets out of line they should be beaten and whipped soundly to put them back in their places. THEY ARE TO SERVE WE, THE PEOPLE, AND NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND.

Of course, these lying, conniving, plundering pirates and the puppet political prostitutes who are supposed to administrate, oversee and correct their actions and fail to do so are nothing more than traitors in my book.

It's too early in the morning for me to try a logical explanation of the difference between posters like Brer' and the other types who express controversial ideas, obnoxiously or other wise, but here is my feeble attempt.

I have no problem with a vigorous debate that gets heated and even out of bounds when the debators are actually engaged in their own defending, attacking, rationalizing and otherwise standing up for what they believe, regardless of how much i dislike what they say. But i have not seen this in Brer' who, based on my limited exposure to his posts (enough to make me want to avoid him entirely), he just throws out stuff and then doesn't defend it or explain it or acknowledge any challenge to it but instead goes after the poster personally. It's as though he is not even interested in what he says but just posts empty words which zig and zag all over the place.

BTP, whatever you say i sense sincerty and civility and you should not think any of us confuse you with Brer' who is your opposite. No worries, BTP. I like a free-for-all where the posters are real people, with real convictions, and ears to listen to others, and a brain to process what they hear. Brer' seems to lack all these qualities, poor boy/girl/it. I'm sure we all make each other mad at times, but we're still a sort of family on 4um that naturally argues an triangulates and falls out and then kisses and makes up, etc. Brer' may even show us that he has a kinder, rational, interesting side who would rather be posting here than on FR .

So the question for Brer' is does he/she/it want to be a part of this family or does he want to destroy it along with many other countries and his perceived enemies? I'd like to give him another chance if he can take the criticism and be a good sport about it and not threaten to blow us up too.
