They used the same backdrops because they never expected things like YouTube to become a thing. We can check their own remastered files and copes against their own remastered and refiled copies and still see the same backdrops.

The guys simply abandon the "went to the moon and are probably still there" theme, mebbe hoping the sheeple are so dumb they've forgotten it by the end. Quite often it's a sure bet.
