Is being Progressive self serving? Anecdote first, lol, there are very few blue collar Maoists, unlike the vast numbers of little red diaper baby book thingies. Self serving punks, all they care about cheap labor and taxpayer paid votes.

Some Progressives just want "free stuff." These are usually young people who don't know any better.
Older Progressives believe everyone else (never them) is too incompetent to run their lives. They want the State to force people to do what's "best" for them. Except for blacks, which they want to keep poor and voting Dem.
Rich Progressives are fascist. They see the State as a means advance their business.
