These sentiments have got to still be in Trump, but I guess the political environment is extremely oppressive. It would be great to have Trump as a lame duck president where he doesn't have to care about that and start firing people left and right.

I agree Trump is weak on civil rights. But it's not like he's any worse than a standard politician in that area.

I would prefer a president who is hostile to both the Deep Swamp and civil liberties than a swamp creature that is only hostile to civil liberties.
