Poster Comment: Has a man-made structure ever effected you emotionally or spiritually? It's something I've been thinking about since I discovered Second Empire plans nail what I would do, given a budget.

I like structures with big balconies and dark, warm, inviting cellars. Like a big back lot, too.
That almosts sounds suggestive, but I know you mean Queen Anne :)
Well, to me this "suggests" Norman Bates, and messy shower stalls.
Yeah, it's spooky alright. I really do like Queen Anne style, though:

Hmmm...Now I think I remember seeing that particular building in Eureka CA, up the coast from the SF Bay area...am I right...?

Wow, that's a beauty!!! The great thing about old buildings like that is their PERSONALITY which comes through in all the fine details and workmanship. Modern buildings are almost uniformly bland, if not hideous because they are totally lacking in details (and the scale is inhuman). I hate modern architecture.
Hate the smell of dampness, don't you? It's such a, I don't know, creepy smell....
