It must be dreadful to be a slave to the tv news weepy machine.

Did you go to the Trump rally in Indy yesterday, or whenever? Supposedly he's coming to Ft Wayne tomorrow or something, I don't care. Road closures etc. Check WANE.com for further developments. I guess that's OK, I'm afraid to drive anyway.

Got called to go to work about 3:00PM today. Just got home. Got a 14 hr day tomorrow. I'm a single handed wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.

It has been many moons since I have been to Circle City. They call Indy that because of the interstate loop (465) that goes completely around town. But when I drove the big truck we would go right up the gut since we did not have to slow down too much. ;)

Hell no, I'm not standing in line for anything anymore ever. Honestly, I had no idea he was coming here until I read your post. There was a heavier than usual crowd at grocery store today, but they opened extra lanes after about 10 minutes. None of the shoppers were engaging in political campaigning, just shopping and trying to get the hell out of there.

Circle City. They call Indy that because of the interstate loop (465) that goes completely around town.

It dates back further, it's because of Monument Circle, downtown. Indianapolis was a planned city built on a mile square grid pattern with four diagonals radiused from a small central circle.

I know you are right about this, Dak. Thanks for the update to my knowledge. If you ever want to know things about Chicago, give me a shout. I think I can search my memory for some answers. ;)

I've been to Chicago many a time. Parents used to take us to Museum of Science and Industry, Shedd, all the stuff. Went to several new car shows at McCormick Place in the late 70's to early 80's.

I spent the weekend there about 15 years ago at the Hard Rock Hotel in the old Carbon and Carbide Building.

BS. They are working as cooks and as construction workers. Big growers should be forced to sell to small family farms. A young couple can make $100,000 a year on a few acres doing market gardening.

Not just as cooks but as bus boys. When I lived in Chicago I was in a local restaurant. One bus boy pointed at another and said, "Hey man, he's a wetback."

As far as I can tell there are no illegals working in construction around the area I live. Can't say for certain about any other areas. I know they would never end up working on state highway jobs since you need political connections to get that sort of work.

The people who work in construction and repairing of buildings around here are most always Mennonites.

Do you know of anyone willing to buy a small piece of arable ground and work to grow veggies? Firstly, you need a good piece of equipment to do the tilling. Troy-bilt rototillers are the absolute best for this.

And then you have to depend on the weather to co-operate and rain when you need it to sprout the seeds since growing them in a greenhouse and transplanting them is tough work. You would need a small greenhouse too and those new fangled ones made of aluminum hoops and heavy plastic sheeting are the best around.

Then how about pest control? If growing cabbage you need to keep the cabbage loopers away or they will devour your seedlings. And cut worms will eat your seedlings too.

Can you grow cauliflowers? You need to tie up the leaves in order to get that tight head you see in the grocery store.

There are many more things I could tell about fertilizers and even pest control, but space here is limited. I am lucky to recall any of this because of the meningitis which wiped out a lot of my memory.

You can try looking at the website of Rodale Institute which has been for many years a leader in sustainable agriculture for tips and books about growing organic veggies and soil health. I was a subscriber to Rodale's Organic Gardening magazine for many years. ;)

Damn, I accidentally clicked on your name rather than reply. If that was you you, you're one scary sumbitch. J/K.

Now I don't remember what I wanted to say.

I missed all the Trump falderol here.

Missed the forecasts for freezing rain yesterday too.

That sucked, welcome to Indiannar.
