A former adviser to the Clintons claims Hillary Clinton will run for president again in 2020, despite her saying recently that she does not want to go through another campaign.
"Get ready for Hillary Clinton 4.0," Mark Penn, who advised Hillary and former President Bill Clinton for over 10 years, and former Democratic Manhattan borough president Andrew Stein wrote in an op-ed released Monday by The Wall Street Journal.
"More than 30 years in the making, this new version of Mrs. Clinton, when she runs for president in 2020, will come full circle back to the universal-healthcare-promoting progressive firebrand of 1994."
Clinton "won't let a little thing like two stunning defeats stand in the way of her claim to the White House," he adds.
Penn notes, when Hillary's independent political career "Hillary Clinton 2.0" began in 1999, she "was a moderate . . . she emphasized her religious background, voiced strong support for Israel, voted for the Iraq war, and took a hard line against Iran."
Despite this, she could not beat former President Barack Obama in the 2008 election, and so "the more liberal Hillary 3.0 emerged," for the 2016 election. "Expect Hillary 4.0 to come out swinging," they wrote. "She has decisively to win [sic] those Iowa Caucus-goers who have never warmed up to her. They will see her now as strong, partisan, left-leaning, and all-Democrat the one with the guts, experience, and steely eyed determination to defeat [President Donald] Trump.
