WGN interviewed former Chicagoans who moved to the Nashville area. No state income tax. Cheaper property tax. No inheritance tax.
Plus Republicans control both houses of the legislature. They had 25 competing bills designed to increase the gun rights of the individual. Never happen in Illinois, NY, NJ or California.
Phil Bredesen was a popular former mayor of Nashville and governor but he lost 91 of 95 counties when he ran for the Senate. All Marsha Blackburn had to do was send out mailers quoting him as opposing the wall and reminding everyone he would vote for a Democrat Senate leader.
There are many factors to consider before fleeing the continually declining metro areas, but I can't think of one more relevant than the safety and educational benefits the children will receive from the move.
The so-called patriot community foresaw this condition evolving long ago and many moved away from big cities overrun with unemployable people and run down neighborhoods. I moved away from Indianapolis, Indiana, some 40 years ago when the city planners started condemning homes in the downtown area to facilitate the sports arena, a convention center, and other government buildings, and moving all of those welfare recipients most of whom were black into my neighborhood on the east side of Indianapolis. Today that neighborhood where I was able to safely deliver the Indianapolis, Star News paper at 5:00 AM every day is a complete shit hole filled with pimps, prostitutes, dope addicts and murderers. The City planners in Indianapolis should be imprisoned for what they have done to working class people that lost tremendous value in the home equities, have been maimed or robbed by the people moved into their otherwise happy blue collar neighborhood.
And this video points out that the people moving to Nashville were paying higher taxes to have a lower standard of living. This condition exists in socialist environments when there aren't enough working whites to support the ever growing number of blacks and other slackers on welfare.

But I can tell you this, if I had not moved out of the Chicago area when I did, I might be dead or in prison.
