Sudden even brief exposure and to cold, to heat (sauna) and exercise can trigger a stress response in your body that will trigger growth of growth factors. This is important. I will try running up a couple flights of stairs on an unheated stairway. This also reduces stress. Reduces brain aging. Helps heart health.

I am going to try taking cold showers followed by hot baths.
Another tip is to freeze important veggies(kale, beets, celery) before you put them in a blender. Freezing breaks the plant cell walls and release the nutrients.
Everything that I've ever heard or read, says that the hot sauna or bath opens up pores to let the garbage out, and then the cold shower afterward closes the pores.
Logically, that sequence makes more sense to me. It's certainly more stimulating on both ends of the procedures.
