TEHRAN (FNA)- Iranian scientists at Amir Kabir University of Technology manufactured a system to confine the nuclear fusion plasma, guaranteeing the future of energy generation in Iran.

Different stages of designing, simulation and building of the system have all been completed by the Iranian researchers, using fully home-made technology.

The Iran-made system's cross section is similar to the cross section of advanced tokamaks produced in other countries of the world.

The system provides the ground for research on the production of nuclear energy through fusion methods and has applications in fuel cells and turbines.

Experts believe that the plan and system will certainly guarantee the future of energy generation through nuclear fusion.

A tokamak is a device which uses a powerful magnetic field to confine a hot plasma in the shape of a torus. The tokamak is one of several types of magnetic confinement devices being developed to produce controlled thermonuclear fusion power.

Power plants today rely either on fossil fuels, nuclear fission, or renewable sources like hydro.

The tokamak is an experimental machine designed to harness the energy of fusion. Inside a tokamak, the energy produced through the fusion of atoms is absorbed as heat in the walls of the vessel. Just like a conventional power plant, a fusion power plant will use this heat to produce steam and then electricity by way of turbines and generators.

It looks like the Iranians have hit a pot of gold with this procedure. ;)
