What Elon Musk said about Nikola Tesla in an interview, may shock you. Elon Musk is quickly becoming one of the most famous people on earth. Tesla the car company, SpaceX, SolarCity, The Boring Company are all companies of Elon Musk's, which are leading the way in technology and humanity's future. However, his thoughts on Nikola Tesla and Thomas Edison took me back for a minute.
His comments about Edison and Tesla seem reasonable to me. Musk makes it clear why he regards both as he does. Edison was a marketer and Tesla the inventor. Given that Musk has created so many companies that are all about bringing this new tech to the world, I could understand him having pro-Edison sympathies.
Edison was the Bill Gates of the electricity era. Like Edison, Bill Gates didn't do much inventing. He often just purchased or copied the work of other people at just the right time and was a marketing genius.
Yes, Edison electrocuted an elephant as a demonstration. Had he done so today he would have been crucified in the media. In his defense it was a different world back then and Edison was part of it.
