Called something about a wolf, that's why I'm up so late. Used to like that astronomy stuff.

Sorry kids, I forgot until now.

Can't believe it's clear here, looks cool.

Would've gone to the joint mentioned in the article, but it's somewhere near downtown. Never be able to find it in the dark.

Tried to get a pic, but it set off the flash on my phone (gray screen). Sorry.

FWIW, it's 0 degrees F in FTW. Froze my ass off for the third time today.

Not sure what the orbital mechanics are for lunar eclipses are, but I know total solar eclipses have a very limited hangout depending where you happen to be standing.

G'nite all, this old man needs to get to bed.

Yes, it was cool/cold. I got to see it totally dark and red before the clouds rolled in. I didn't stay out there long. Too cold for me!

My daughter and I watched it. She is 2 hours south of me. We both dashed in and out because it was so cold ["polar vortex"]. She also saw 2 meteors go by it, one a big one just a few minutes before the full eclipse. She sent me a pic of the moon this morning [truly "blood red"]. My eyes are bad, but I think the moon looked a lot more blood red from her perspective, and she was telling me as we watched it how it was getting really red, while I was just seeing a hint of red. We usually have heavy cloud cover for these events, so all and all, I am glad I didn't miss this one, and to share it with my daughter 2 hours away via phone made it very special. As a little girl, she liked that "astronomy stuff" too. :)

I was always out looking up at the heavens at night trying to spot the major constellations such as Orion and the Big Dipper. ;)

So was my daughter. Orion and the Big Dipper are about the only ones I know, and they are easy to spot where I live.

Yes if you are away from city lights or smog it is easier to see the stars.

Here is a listing I found. ;)
