Small bands of masked evangelists, clad in tights and armed with biblical names, argue it is. The violence and intensity of wrestling, they claim, can be the perfect way to attract the alternative, younger crowd. At the beginning of some "Wrestling for Jesus" shows, wrestler Chase "Darkness" Cliett is strapped to a massive wooden cross on stage as piercing music is played. A group of evil wrestlers beats and bloodies him before the good guys dramatically come to his rescue. Later, after a horned fellow in a red suit is knocked out, the preaching begins. But it's not for everyone; many churches won't even consider letting them perform. One performance ended with real fighting, real cursing and a repentant participant stretched-out face-down in the ring weeping. They're not the only wrestling group to heed the call, according to The Christian Post. Another group, Christian Wrestling Federation, is based in Texas. It has a board of eight preachers in addition to a core of dozen entertainers that use each match to entertain the crowd and preach, the newspaper reported. Ultimate Christian Wrestling, based in Athens, Ga., is another group that features booming music and special effects, according to The Christian Post.

"The Cross" Ministry The Cross Ministry that the WFJ performs is a full reenactment of Jesus Christ being crucified on the Cross. We have a 10' foot cross that is used in this drama. Jesus Christ played by Chase Cliett is brought out from the back and this drama is also set to one of Carmen's songs as well. He is beaten on all away around the ring by the other wrestlers and is ultimately put on the Cross and raised up for everyone to see. The bad wrestlers then start gambling in front of Jesus for his only remaining article of clothing, while Jesus is on the Cross asking God, "Please Forgive Them, For They Know Not What They Do", just then a loud noise sounds and the music cuts off and Jesus' Head falls and the bad wrestlers run to the back. Good Wrestlers then come out and get him off the cross. Its a very powerful reenactment and is really graphic and points, but its true to the real thing and is a very powerful thing to view.
Just an FYI...this is the story in the organization's own words. Beats the biased MSM every time, no matter what you believe. Does anyone think the two accounts are any different?
