Democrat Jim Clyburn and other members of his party are promoting this idea known as a “smart wall.” The thing is, it isn’t a wall and it certainly isn’t smart.

The rhetoric from the Democrat Party is getting dumber and dumber by the day. As part of the ongoing political battle that’s raging over border security, they have introduced a new concept called a “smart wall.”

McClatchy:

Jim Clyburn wants to call his border security plan a wall, even though it’s really not.

Clyburn, the third-ranking House Democrat, is proposing what he calls a “smart wall,” a border security strategy that uses technology, not concrete.

The South Carolina congressman explained his “wall” would involve drones, scanners, and sensors “to create a technological barrier too high to climb over, too wide to go around, and too deep to burrow under.”

Not surprisingly, the term “smart wall” is the opposite of what it purports to be. It is not a wall and it is not smart. Other Democrats even think the idea is ridiculous. One of them actually laughed at the concept when they were asked about it.

Sen. Jon Tester, a Montana Democrat and a member of the committee trying to negotiate a breakthrough, chuckled when discussing Clyburn’s idea. If a deal is reached, he said, people can call it whatever they want.

“If a wall is part of it, if a fence is part of it, that’s what some people will call it. If it’s smart some other people will call it that,” he said.

No amount of sensors, drones and technology can replace the presence of a physical barrier. This is such an obvious fact and it is ridiculous that we even have to go through the exercise of explaining it. Technology can only augment a physical barrier and without a physical barrier the technology is useless in stopping illegal entries.

You might be able to watch illegal aliens enter the country from a drone or a sensor might go off alerting security personnel that an illegal entry took place, but none of this technology is capable of impeding their progress. And that’s the point is it not? The Democrats want to claim that they are being reasonable in their negotiations by promoting this ridiculous “smart wall” concept. Of course, the promotion of such a dumb concept is proof that they are being entirely unreasonable in their negotiations.

If you want to see a real “smart wall” look no further to the wall system in Israel. That’s a real “smart wall” because it is a strong physical barrier that effectively impedes the progress of anyone trying to enter.

And I bet we paid for that wall lock, stock and barrel with our tax dollars so Israhell could be secured. ;)

Their ignorance is boundless.

They don't want to stop or impede illegal entrants. They want Open Borders -- i.e. all entrants "legal", just as the UN Migration Pact (aka the UN Invasion Pact) instructs for the countries that signed it. Even though the U.S. didn't sign it, our neighbors, Mexico and Canada, both did and now have America in a veritable pincer move of illegal alien migratory invaders, North and South. Canada has even requested 1 million more immigrants by 2021 (YouTube Ref., 10.5 minutes). If they'd rather sneak into America instead of stay there, well, Canada could just request some more and so on until America is in economic and cultural ruins but resembles China's Police State. Cui Bono? Probably mucho Democrat Party tech-investors who want to stall on securing our Southern border, don't want physical barriers that would be less techno-intrusive to the rights of Americans and don't want to be less evasive about their pricey technical plans but most likely are planning to install Leftist surveillance monitors who don't care about our rights or the security of our borders.

China's social credit system keeps a critical eye on everyday behavior - YouTube, 2.5 minutes

Am hoping the UK also doesn't go that direction over its Northern Ireland and EU border issue.
