Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., doesn't have plans to seek advice from Hillary Clinton on his presidential aspirations, saying Friday "I think not" when asked if he would do so. Sanders was on "The View" to talk about his campaign for president, which is now about a week and a half old. "I suspect not. Hillary has not called me," Sanders said when asked if he would meet with Clinton, to whom he lost the 2016 Democratic presidential nomination. "Look, we have differences. She has played a very important role in modern American politics." When asked to clarify whether he would meet with Clinton, Sanders said, "I think not." "I think every Democrat is gonna come together," Sanders added. "Let me say what I've said before: I hope to be the Democratic nominee and have the support of the whole Democratic Party behind me. If I am not, and somebody else is, I will support that candidate because what's most important is that Trump be defeated." The 77-year-old lawmaker then acknowledged that he and Clinton "have fundamental differences. That's the way it is." Clinton beat Sanders in the 2016 primary to become the nominee. However, it was reported that the Democratic National Committee may have shown favoritism toward Clinton to help her win. That prompted the DNC to direct its staff to remain impartial during the 2020 primary season until a nominee is chosen.
