(Frazer Harrison/Getty) An African-American actor who said he voted for former President Barack Obama admitted this week that President Donald Trump is offering support for the "black agenda" that Obama never did. Isaiah Washington, who has appeared in Grey's Anatomy, several Spike Lee films, and other shows and movies, was at the White House Monday to celebrate the signing of the First Step Act, a piece of prison reform legislation. He tweeted his support of Trump and criticized Obama for not doing enough to help the black community. "I voted for 44 twice. I even checked my emails in his Senate Office while lobbying for Salone to be given another chance to rebrand. Not once in 8 years was I given any support regarding Africa or the Black Agenda, but 45 invites me to the WH to celebrate the #FirstStepAct 🤷🏾♂️," he wrote. In another tweet, Washington wrote, "Those who know, know that Im not a Democrat or a Republican. I will work w/h anyone as long as things get done. The #FirstStepAct was passed on December 21, 2018 w/h the hard work of @JessyMichele @LouislReed @VanJones68 and @cut_50 Im proud to stand with them all today. 🇺🇸." He said in another tweet that Trump "freed 3,000 Federal Prisoners, got 16,000 in drug rehabilitation programs and now" ... just needs to deliver "#Reparations2020 #FirstStepAct 🇺🇸" Trump signed the First Step Act into law in December. On Monday, a White House event celebrated the occasion with an event in the East Room Poster Comment: Que sera, sera. Wait a minute, that is Doris Day. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
