Resistance See other Resistance Articles Title: Paul Joseph Watson to sue Facebook for defamation after being falsely labeled a “dangerous” terrorist As Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and other major social media sites continue to censor and ban conservatives, one notable liberty fighter is fighting back after being permanently ‘de-personed’ by Mark Zuckerburg’s speech Nazis. A week ago, YouTube sensation and former Infowars editor Paul Joseph Watson was banned by Facebook ostensibly as part of the social media behemoth’s drive to rid its platform of “dangerous” and “hateful” people. In addition, Infowars creator Alex Jones, conservative activist Laura Loomer, and Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan, among others, were given the boot. In the aftermath, PJW said he had no idea why Facebook banned him — he was not given any warnings about the content he regularly posted, nor was he given any reason for being deplatformed, other than the standard ‘you’re hateful’ and ‘you’re violent’ pabulum. But he’s not taking this lying down. Writing on Infowars he noted: Last week I was permanently banned by Facebook for being a “dangerous person”. I found out about it not through Facebook, which failed to even send me a single email, but through media reports. They’ve put me in the same category as Louis Farrakhan, a man who compared Jews to termites and once described Adolf Hitler as a “very great man”. The Instagram (owned by Facebook) ban was even “funnier” given my page consisted mainly of selfies and videos of myself and my girlfriend feeding ducks. Super dangerous. But as humorous as it is, I take exception to being defamed as a “dangerous person.” PJW went on to ask rhetorically, “To whom am I a danger, precisely? Mark Zuckerberg?” He called the Facebook creator and multi-billionaire a “creep oligarch” whose social media platform is used by one-third of the world’s population (about 2.4 billion people), the thoughts of whom he seeks to control, PJW said. “Who’s the bigger danger?” Watson noted further that he was ostensibly booted from the platform due to “a new policy which states if you post material about people Mark Zuckerberg doesn’t like” then that material will be summarily removed and the posting offender banned. Tweeted support from the president isn’t enough Meanwhile, users who post doubt and denials about the Holocaust — well documented historically in pictures, accounts, and video — are still permitted to spew real hate online and on Facebook. “But defend Alex Jones or share an InfoWars link and you’re in big, big trouble,” PJW wrote. (Related: Actor Rob Schneider lambasts “progressive Democrats” and tech giants over their unbelievable censorship: “We are in an Orwellian nightmare.”) He went on to point out that CNN — that bastion of fake news — has also labeled him an “extremist,” to which he also takes issue. “I refuse to be defamed as an ‘extremist,’ too,” he writes. Watson noted that he has never advocated the use of violence against anyone nor has he supported “hate” against any individual or organization. “Media personality glibly repeated” the ‘hate’ and ‘violence’ characterizations “without citing any evidence for their proclamations,” said Watson. “I won’t allow that to stand.” He pointed out that Maajid Usman Nawaz, a British activist who founded Quilliam, a think tank focusing on countering extremism, was falsely defamed as an “extremist” by the Southern Poverty Law Center; after Nawaz sued, the SPLC was forced to pay him $3 million for falsely impugning him. Watson, founder of Summit.news, said that “like Nawaz,” he, too, has been threatened with death by Islamist — “actual extremists.” But he “won’t allow a target to be painted” on his back by Facebook and CNN. He said that soon, Facebook will “be put on legal notice” regarding the harm their actions have caused him and forced to explain why he was labeled “dangerous” and summarily banned.
