(KCBS/KCAL-TV via AP) Poster Comment: It appears that the warrant was based upon an anonymous tip. (As far as I am aware an anonymous tip is not a legitimate basis for issuance of a warrant. I have read case law that supports my opinion.) Unless this man was a licensed dealer with a Federal Firearms License he may sell his gins to anyone he chooses so long as the weapon is legal. I know a guy in Illinois who is making Austrian-style .308 rifles. I asked him once, "Where did you get the money to start that business?" He replied, "Good fellas." He took a loan from the mob. He must have paid them off because he is still healthy. The way the gun dealer here in town talks, they are still making them but they are hard to get. I guess he sells every rifle that comes off the line and they are back ordered. ;)
