Jordan: Surveillance of Trump Campaign Was Spying By Sandy Fitzgerald | Friday, 10 May 2019 03:23 PM Rep. Jim Jordan Friday disputed former FBI Director James Comey's contentions that the agency didn't spy on President Donald Trump's campaign, saying that he "doesn't know" what else someone could call the surveillance that had taken place. "We know spying took place," the Ohio Republican told Fox News' "America's Newsroom," pointing out that a FISA warrant was obtained through the use of an opposition research document funded in part by Democratic Nominee Hillary Clinton's campaign. "They didn't tell the court the facts about the dossier," said Jordan. Who paid for it? The Clinton campaign. [Christopher] Steele was desperate to stop Trump. We know they did it that way." Also, reports from last week showed that the FBI sent a woman to speak with Trump aide George Papadopoulos, said Jordan, and "if that is not spying, I don't know what is." He added that former FBI Deputy Director Andrew McCabe has testified that the dossier, which Comey had dismissed himself as "salacious and unverified," was used for the Page surveillance order, and without the document, the warrant would not have been issued. Jordan disputed claims that Inspector General Michael Horowitz will not find anything inappropriate as he wraps up his report. "The last time the inspector general did a report he said Andy McCabe lied three times under oath," said Jordan. "In the next four to six weeks I think we'll have that report and see what it says. He has done good work in the past and I expect good work in the future." Meanwhile, he said he does not know if Democrats will bring Comey back into testify, as they are more interested in going after Attorney General William Barr. Poster Comment: The facts remain that when Trump found out about the wiretaps and bug in his HQ he moved the whole operation to New Jersey. Spying is spying and the fact it was all done in secret FISA courts makes it 10 times worse. Post Comment Private Reply Ignore Thread
