TEHRAN (FNA)- Washington has embarked on a big mistake when it sent a spying drone to a sensitive region in Iranian territories, Abdel Bari Atwan, the editor-in-chief of Rai al-Youm newspaper, said, adding that Iran's response displayed its defensive power.

"If Trump claims that Iran has made a mistake, the Americans' mistake is much bigger when they did not assess the possible response of their rival and sent the drone to a sensitive and volatile region which has witnessed unprecedented tensions, war of oil tankers and bombing of airports and water and power plants in the depth of the US allies' territories," Atwan wrote on Saturday.

He referred to the remarks by Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Major General Hossein Salami who has described the Iranian borders as red line, and said, "The only profound interpretation of the IRGC threat is that Iran is yet to unveil a bigger response and a more crushing response will wait for future aggressions."

Atwan expressed confidence that Iran's decision to shoot down the US drone was not unexpected, noting that the reaction was naturally shown in line with a strategy approved by senior Iranian military commanders several months ago to confront any intruder plane, tank or missile.

An American spy drone was shot down by the IRGC Aerospace Force over Iranian airspace at dawn on Thursday. According to the IRGC, the US military surveillance drone was flying with its tracking equipment switched off at the time, violating international aviation regulations.

The United States had confirmed that one of its reconnaissance planes was shot down by Iranian air defenses, but denied that it intruded into Tehran’s airspace at the time.

Tehran has released two videos that show the flight route of the plane as well as the moment it was brought down by an Iran-made air defense shield called 'Third of Khordad'.

On Thursday evening, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said that his country has retrieved parts of the US Global Hawk that was shot down on Thursday morning from the country's territorial waters, rejecting Washington's claim that the aircraft was targeted in international waters.

"(The) US drone took off from UAE in stealth mode and violated Iranian airspace," Zarif wrote on Twitter, adding that the Global Hawk drone "was targeted near... Kouh-e Mobarak" region in the Central district of Jask in Hormuzgan province after the aircraft violated Iran's airspace.

Zarif even provided the coordinates where the US aircraft was intercepted, and added, "We've retrieved sections of the US military drone in OUR territorial waters where it was shot down."

In an earlier tweet, Zarif stated that Iran "will take this US new aggression to (the) UN and show that the US is lying about international waters".

The Iranian foreign minister noted that Tehran does not want war, "but will zealously defend our skies, land and waters".

Commander of the IRGC Major General Hossein Salami stressed that the move should alert Washington officials to stay away.

The incident sent "a clear message" to the US and other enemies that Iran will show a firm and crushing response to any aggression, Salami stated.

"Borders are our red lines and any enemy which violates them will not go back home and will be annihilated. The only way for enemies is to respect Iran's territorial integrity and national interests," the major general noted.

Poster Comment:

More likely deliberate intrusion by some Jew jerk at the controls to get a US attack on Iran which Israel wants. If Trump wants to avoid such mistakes then get rid of Jew duals in such sensitive areas.

The US claims the drone was shot down in international airspace. Iran claims it violated Iran airspace.

Both could be true, if the drone briefly entered Iran airspace before departing it, and I've not yet seen a claim by the US that the drone *never* entered Iran airspace, only that it was shot down while in international airspace.

If indeed it did violate Iran airspace, Trump is unlikely to admit that due to the sheer embarrassment of it all. So yes, this could have been an intentional provocation by a low level hand, and doing it with an outrageously expensive drone would make it all the more embarrassing enough to guarantee that admission of wrongdoing would be forthcoming.

So yes, an intentional violation of the airspace by the military without Trump's approval is quite plausible. I doubt Iran would have fired on it without it violating Iran airspace but it's possible, as they wouldn't want this thing snooping on their doorstep and given the price tag, I doubt the US will fly another one that close again. So if the goal was to stop the e-snooping, shooting one down as they did likely accomplished that goal.

Conspiracy theorist Auzzie Mario Milano on Pravda Forum contends that Israeli toadies in Washington tripled the personnel in the drone-accompanying plane on speculation that Iranian missiles would hit the larger target, casualties being sufficient to warrant a US attack on Iran:

Now that the (((Deep State))) has Failed to get their War Against Iran On, Which Americans will Now be Sacrificed?

That Iran was able to knock out that drone surprised the WH (((war mongers))), since they had hoped that Iran's surface-to-air missiles weren't that accurate and would of hit the bigger target, the Posiedon P-8 plane, carrying 35 sacrificial lambs for Butcher Boy Bolton and President Kushner to kill, to kick off the much hoped for bombing of Iran.

The P-8 conducts anti-submarine warfare (ASW), anti-surface warfare (ASUW), and shipping interdiction, along with an early warning self-protection (EWSP) ability, otherwise known as electronic support measures (ESM). This involves carrying torpedoes, Harpoon anti-ship missiles, and other weapons. It is able to drop and monitor sonobuoys.

The P-8 can also control UAV's, like the Global Hawk, meaning that Iran was telling the truth that it invaded their air space and the WH--SURPRISE--is lying.

The specs say that it has a crew of nine, but the (((war mongers))) packed in 35 human targets in the hope Iran's missile would hit it and not the drone.

...The deadliest threat to American military personnel is the Jew controlled Government in Washington

The QRS-11 chip, which was installed in all commercial aircraft in the 1990s, can take over the controls of aircraft from ground control units in the event of hijacking. This is so the aircraft can be landed safely.

This chip whose patent was filed by Rose Law Firm (Hillary's law firm).

Now you see another connection to the events of 9-11-2001. ;)

Summary excerpts: Richard Clarke, chief White House counterterrorism advisor to both Bill Clinton and George W. Bush, claims to be the godfather of drone warfare. ... Clarke claims he convinced Clinton that the only way to find Osama bin Laden was by using drones. ... Clinton's memorandum of notification amending the Reagan ban on assassinations will be one starting point.

Reagan did many good things when in office. Ending CIA extrajudicial killings of foreign officials was one of them.

Mossadeqh in Iran was one. He was taken out in 1953 and the CIA puppet Shah Reza Pahlavi was installed. He reigned until 1979 when the student uprising and seizure of the U.S. Embassy in Tehran put an end to it.

Pahlavi's secret police, the Savak, ran a reign of terror among the Iranian people.

The hostages were freed after 444 days in captivity after the inauguration of Ronald Reagan. ;)
