Cam Newton offers man $1,500 to change seats on 10-hour flight, man says no

Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton was getting ready to sit down on a 10-hour flight from Paris on Friday, and approached a man on the plane. The man had a seat with extra leg room, and Newton very much wanted the seat. So, Newton offered the guy $1,500 to change seats. The man said no:

A couple of questions immediately come to mind with that one.

1. How do you turn down $1,500 for leg room on a flight? We probably know the answer to that already: that man is doing quite, quite well for himself financially.

2. How does Cam Newton — who was the 2o15 NFL MVP, is a three-time Pro Bowl selection, and is making $103.8 million on a five-year deal — not have the seat he wants to begin with?

If Cam Newton has at least that much cash on him he had better watch his back or he might get jacked up. ;)

Cam should have/could have chosen his seat when he, or his homies, booked the flight.

But, he's not the smartest QB in the league.

No fooling. But maybe First Class was booked up, so he tried to scam that old guy into giving up his seat. ;)

If being offered $1500 for an airline seat that didn't even require a different flight qualifies as a scam, then I might allow myself to scammed, just this one time.

People who get those seats likely choose them while booking for the extra leg room. The guy he offered to was probably a big guy as well as well-to-do.

He was certainly well off, and it would not be a surprise that he took a limo to the airport. ;)

Where the hell was he going from Paris that takes 10 hours? And why was he wandering around in coach, or maybe business?
