Full operations are not yet online. The migration to the new server is more than a migration. The Pinguinite software is about 15 years old. Time does indeed fly. Upon installing it on to the latest linux distributions of Debian server software, some modular software packages that were relied upon 15 years ago are no longer supported so to get 4um online again, I've needed to upgrade it to utilize the more recent replacements of those independent modules.
All in all, that it lasted 15 years it speaks well of linux in general!
More upgrades are required to bring 4um completely back online. I suspect comments are not yet functional.
As for what happened with the former site, I don't know. While I began the migration a week or more ago, I was taking my time with it and had only changed the DNS servers for 4um while keeping the previous server IP. It went down and it seemed the outage was prolonged, at least to me, so I decided to just proceed with the migration. I did have sufficient rights to obtain the database so that is now here. I am not clear on the cause of the extended recent outage. It was not due to anything related to the pending transfer, and nothing related to anything I have done. But I guess it doesn't matter now.
