Barack Obama couldnt believe it when a top Republican gave him the worst news possible Barack Obama may be the worst president in history.
Despite this, he continues trying to remain relevant in the political discussion.
So Obama couldnt believe it when a top Republican gave him the worst news possible.
A major issue for the Democrat Party is reparations.
They believe people who were not involved in slavery should be forced to give money to people who were never slaves. Democrats are trying to make it seem as though it is a common sense issue.
And in trying to do that, they went after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, who opposes reparations, over his great-great-grandfathers owning slaves.
But instead of falling for their guilt-tripping plan, McConnell simply pointed out the fact that former President Barack Obama is also a descendent of slave owners, along with the fact they both oppose reparations. The Daily Caller reports:
Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell on Tuesday responded to a question about his great-great grandfathers owning slaves, and if that would change his mind on reparations.
When asked if he would change his stance on reparations, McConnell responded to the question on Capitol Hill, saying, I find myself in the same position as President Obama. We both oppose reparations and we both are the descendants of slave owners.
This comes as NBC News published an article which said McConnells great-great-grandfathers owned 14 slaves and his mentioned his stance on reparations.
It is true that Obama has slave owners in his lineage.
So if they are going to target McConnell with a question about his ancestors, it is very hypocritical considering they would be very unlikely to do the same with Obama.
After all, Obama did speak out against reparations while in office.
I dont think we should be trying to figure out how to compensate for that first of all, itd be pretty hard to figure out who to compensate, he told journalists. Weve tried to deal with our original sin of slavery by fighting a civil war, by passing landmark civil rights legislation. Weve elected an African American president.
