"Debunking 'Caveman' conspiracy theories since 2002" Wow... As early as 7:00 AM they knew of a potential hijacking. Which does what? If they knew of a potential hijacking at 7:00 AM, they had to have known earlier than that, because they'd have to verify certain info before it was bumped up the chain of command. Regardless, what could they have done at that point, because less than 2 hours later, we'd see the first plane hit the WTC.

The famous video of Atta at the Portland airport on 9/11 has a time stamp of 5:53 A.M. At 6:45 a.m., while at the Boston airport, Mohamed Atta took a call from Marwan al-Shehhi, another hijacker. This call was apparently to confirm the attacks were ready to begin. Atta's flight from Boston took off at 7:59 A.M.

Transcript clip: SS AGENT: September 11th started as a pretty routine day for me. I got in about 7 o'clock and I got a call from the duty desk. And they were briefing me that we were geting intelligence that there was a potential hijacking. So we activated the crisis center.

Would that be a crisis center in the White House? According to Richard Clarke's account of 9/11, he hurried to the Situation Room in the White House as soon as the second plane hit the WTC. At the Situation Room, he found Dick and Lynne Cheney already there. I've long wondered what Lynne Cheney was doing in the Situation Room so early on a Tuesday morning in early September. She's not in government. She almost certainly doesn't have the clearances necessary to be in that room. And the timing is weird, to say the least.
So we activated the crisis center.
