Nick Hanauer is a rich guy, an unrepentant capitalist and he has something to say to his fellow plutocrats: Wake up! Growing inequality is about to push our societies into conditions resembling pre-revolutionary France. Hear his argument about why a dramatic increase in minimum wage could grow the middle class, deliver economic prosperity ... and prevent a revolution.

The Minimum Wage Hike Scam is how the middle class is being pushed backwards, closer and closer toward minimum wage pay-scale every time they don't get a comparable cost of living increase in their earnings. Prices go up. Minimum wage workers have a bit more money to pay the higher prices until their purchasing power is back to where it was before or worse. And middle class workers, who've spent years trying to work their way above entry-level minimum wage to skilled level, have no extra money - just less and less purchasing power to cover their living expenses, let alone any money left to splurge on a McDonald's meal out. Nothing got changed for the non-plutocratic workers except higher prices and some middle class workers being replaced with minimum wage workers because: Minimum Wage is always still Minimum Wage no matter how high it's hiked. Doubtful people like Mr. Hanauer don't realize that as this non-solution scam is promoted repeatedly, since it's not rocket science. Profit-sharing plans would at least be helpful to some extent for non-plutocrat employees (if substantially higher than a $50 "bonus" at the end of the year, which amounts to less than $1 per week) but likely plutocrats don't really want to "risk" disrupting any Food Stamp allotments and such that way for their minimum and low wage workers.
