He is known for his many outspoken opinions. In the context of the following story, it is interesting to note that Zhirinovsky specialized in Turkish language and literature at Moscow State University's Institute of Oriental Studies. Mr. Zhirinovsky needs to be mindful also of Russian history, for during the Civil War, Lincoln had a good Ambassador in Moscow. The British were thinking of entering the war on the side of the South. The U.S. Ambassador convinced the Tsar to send the Russian Navy to New York Harbor and San Francisco Bay.
