His last postings were 8.10.19 ~ I hope he's well.
The most dangerous man to any government is the man who is able to think things out... without regard to the prevailing superstitions and taboos. Almost inevitably he comes to the conclusion that the government he lives under is dishonest, insane, intolerable. ~ H. L. Mencken
He explained in his opening post that he'd been busy trying to help a friend. This is the website he started for that work he was doing:
Google Groups:Alberta Politics | Most recent post: July 20, 2019
The last poster he spoke to here was you on August 10. Quite some time ago, he explained that the reason he didn't want to bother with the routine of including a source link for his topic articles was because of being elderly, so he was like conserving time and energy for better things to do. Perhaps he is busy again with trying to help his friend. Also quite some time ago, the issue of vanity posts was being discussed here and posting a leave of absence notice was one of the things that fell into that category, iirc. So, the one thing we can probably be very sure of is that he'd like to be here when possible.

Thanks for the information and the link: looking at one of his posts there he included a link to 4um...perhaps he's just cutting back his time online.

USA! USA! USA! Bringing you democracy, or else! there were strains of VD that were incurable, and they were first found in the Philippines and then transmitted to the Korean working girls via US military. The 'incurables' we were told were first taken back to a military hospital in the Philippines to quietly die. 4um

You're welcome. Maybe so or it might be that he's having computer problems, which he mentioned at his above-linked 4um topic but seemed to think it was a problem with the link-path. Said he'd gone to the library to test reaching his Alberta Politics website from there because of slow access.

The only recent slow-down was when 4um was being transitioned to a new data-base(?) or whatever Neil had to do. Here, it's been functioning very well.

I don't think that he thought the problem he was having with slow access from his location to his website was a 4um glitch - more like he thought that he wasn't typing the group's name or path right or that there might be problems with his computer. At Post #2 of his topic (linked here at #3), he talked about using a library computer to see if he could get to the site quicker from there but that didn't seem to correct the matter. I tested the Alberta Politics link today and it was so slow at times that it seemed to get stuck at the main page for Google Groups like his site was deactivated, but it isn't. It just takes a long while sometimes for Google Groups to find it for some reason.

The link that you posted in #3 works smokin'fast here.

And............. nobody's in touch with HAPPY2BME-4UM, right?
The vanity post issue was a long time ago (I think around the time that there'd be a hundred or more posts in some topics here), so I don't recall much more of it regarding particular complaints other than what I noted as to why Tatarewicz (and others) might have taken an unexpected vacation from posting.

Great, that'll give me a chance to adjourn to the back patio for a puff, or two.
