The mother wants to call the poor thing Luna in his new identity -- appropriately in view of her lunacy.

"Program rolled out in Latin America and third-world countries now coming to Texas.", it says there. "The ID2020 Alliance is a digital identity program that uses vaccination to insert tiny microchips into people’s bodies as part of a “digital identity program,” which has already been rolled out for use on the homeless."

It may be difficult for the legislature or governor to intervene. I remember the case of, was the name Shiavo? or something similar? The woman in a coma for 10-15 years. The husband wanted to remove the feeding tube, the parents didn't. The husband also had a new woman in his life, so his motivations were called into question. The state legislature attempted to intervene, but in the end could do nothing to undo the court ruling in favor of the husband to remove the feeding tube.

Teri was her name, and Jeb! refused to intervene when he had the chance to do so.

Teri was her name, and Jeb! refused to intervene when he had the chance to do so.

The argument was over whether Teri was aware and near conscious. The parents insisted she was due to what seemed responsive eye movement. The autopsy seemed to support the claim that he brain was pretty much deteriorated beyond any hope of ever being anything other than a shell of a body.

But, the legislature of, I think, Florida or maybe Congress itself attempted to intervene but didn't have the legal might to do so.

All that is an aside though. What Texas could do is pass a law making it illegal for any minor person to receive any sex change medical treatment, either surgery or medicinal, and further make it illegal for any parent to be bound in how to refer to his/her son or daughter.

With Teri Schiavo, the legal problem was, on further thought, more complicated for the legislature to undo.

I believe that's the route TX will pursue (and the logically and legally best route).

The best result of Terri's case was getting folks to reduce their final wishes to writing, and giving them to family members.

Now why can't every state just do something sensible like that? Politicians everywhere are too busy with stuff that we don't need and can't feel to attend to big scary deals.

Just a few years back in sex depravity history, any parent that messed with their child's gender would have been instantly locked away, because IT IS CHILD ABUSE. Now we have to convince the authorities there's anything wrong with it.

Are you talking about when his brain got stolen or when he got blasted with enough radiation to kill Klingon colony?

A great deal of talent, imagination and fun went into it -- for such a gliberal-preachy, thinly-veiled pipe dream of the UN running around the universe solving problems like they never do here.

Despite that and the show's unmistakable odor of pickled herring, I fondly think back to some episodes and the interesting points they made.

I was a Trekky, but I do not recall Mr. Spock's brain being stolen. So it might have been the radiation episode.

Then too, the meningitis has interfered in many things having to do with my memory. ;)

This episode completely freaked me out for some reason, being only eight or nine years old at the time being a big part of it. Reruns, of course, 1973 or so.

Viruses yet, lol

And it's terrible that they put shows on that scare and demoralize children -- which amounts to prolly 10% of them back then. The original Superman show grossed me out horribly, the Twilight Zone terrified me. ROOM FOR ONE MORE, HONEY!'
