Long before, the US became aware of Japan training in shallow water torpedo bombing. ONE major Amerrican port in entire Pacific that was shallow was Pearl Harbor. Patton in 1938 told FDR the Japs would come from the north, they did.
There was perhaps one error in video, in he mentioned only two waves were planned. Notice oil tanks in farm were not hit. They were to be taken out in the third wave, however Japanese worried where carriers were and were afraid the carriers were approaching. Third wave was cancelled and they fled north.

It is obvious the Japs did not have air cover for the attack group since they knew it was a total surprise. They even caught most of the fighters on the ground at Hickam.
And the Philippines was attacked 9 hours after Pearl Harbor. ;)
MacArthur expected to find fighting troops there, waiting.
He was shocked to find all he had was a hotel for his HQ and a dozen new staff members. There was nothing, our focus was on invading North Africa.
I bet he knew then he was double-crossed.
And then later when MacArthur was finally in the Philippines and could have used generators, the Communist spy sleeping in the White House arranged to have them sent to Russia. ;)
