Here is the definition off the top of my head. Fire is the result of a chemical reaction where a fuel oxidizes and gives off heat and light energy. A gas is also produced upon the oxidation of fuels, in some cases more violently than others. In cases of rapid oxidation, the gas is produced at such an intense rate the result is an instant pressurization of the surrounding area. This is often called an explosion. A rocket engine works by way of the controlled yet rapid oxidation of fuel thus producing a high volume of gas rapidly in order to generate thrust. Thus, your claim that rockets can't operate in the vacuum of space illustrates how uninformed you are. Thanks for all that info. Wish such was as 'forthcoming' from everybody here. It's not just the shape of the earth that is being denied by the other person, he claims gravity doesn't exist, people never navigated across the globe, the sky is a giant CGI projection (mind you computers didn't exist prior to WWII, and even then they used vacuum tubes and took up a warehouse sized building to do simple calculations), and other such nonsensical things. Turns out I wasn't wrong about the Byrd connection to the hollow earth/polar entrance story, it's just I had the poles mixed up. The story claims Byrd found the entrance at the North Pole, not South. From Hollow Earth Theory and Admiral Byrd: Proof of an Inner Earth? In 1947 Byrd allegedly undertook another flight over the North Pole. This time, in a diary that didn’t surface until years later, Byrd recorded events as he flew into the earth, and encountered the inhabitants who live there. Allegedly, he landed his craft, and spoke with a representative of the city of Agartha (referred to as Ariana in some accounts), who reprimanded him for humanity’s recent invention of the atomic bomb, and warned that a dark age is to come if humans don’t shape up. In my youth I read a lot of scifi -- especially Asimov -- but was never a scifi film fan. But if I had been, say 13 or 14 in 1956 when Forbidden Planet was released, I might have become a scifi film fan. And not because of the robot.
I read Foundation Trilogy for a book report in Jr. High. Loved the story. Yes, but before then there was even better stuff on TV. I'd watch the original Outer Limits, it'd give me nightmares but I was addicted to it at an early age. The Invaders was a great show as well. Hey, just seeing this. I've been called worse! I AM ignorant, stupid and dumb when it comes to science and some other subjects I daydreamed my way through, buckling down and studying long enough to get an A or at least a B on tests so I could get back to the business of daydreaming. I would LOVE LOVE LOVE for flat earth to be true! That would sure make Babylon fall in an hour. I did watch a video a few months back with a guy and gal who worked for NASA, and if they can be believed, and I didn't feel like they were lying, they found out first hand that Antarctica is not a continent, and SHE heard some NASA engineers chortling to themselves about how they didn't "believe" how Americans bought in to the "moon landings". They said everything is compartmentalized, and on a need-to-know basis, and that's why even many folks who work at NASA can't put the pieces of a mass deception together. I will probably be flamed for saying this. I couldn't care less. I can't watch these right now, but am making a note to myself to come back to these when time allows.
