I never had the pleasure of working Merle in concert. But we did quite a few great country stars like George Strait and many others. We did several really great Rock n Roll shows too.

One time we were working a show at Medusa's on Sheffield about a mile south of Wrigley Field in Chicago. I was standing in front of the speaker stack. An older woman came from back stage. She looked right at me and said, "You good looking man. If you're staying in town, you're staying with me." Then she kissed me right on the lips. That was the last I seen of her. I think she went to the bus and passed out. Lots of those band members at Medusa's were young and they needed a chaperone along. That was usually Mom. :-)

Some heartfelt comments at the site. You can feel his songs in both heart and soul.
