Ancient Earth A team of Harvard scientists believe the remnants of an ancient Earth that date to the time another planet collided with ours to produce the moon may still be lodged deep within the Earth’s mantle

If you thought it was a trip to see the Earth from space, then wait until you get a load of this: A team of scientists from Harvard University believe that have found evidence that an ancient Earth exists inside our planet. The team believes that a previously unexplained isotopic ratio from deep within the Earth might be a signal from material from before our world collided with another planet-sized body, which led to the creation of the Moon. This might be an echo of an ancient Earth that existed 4.5 billion years ago, prior to the proposed collision.

The current favored theory says that the Moon was formed 4.5 billion years ago when the Earth collided with a mass the size of Mars, dubbed “Theia.” This theory states that the heat generated by the collision would have melted the whole planet before some of the debris spun off to create the Moon.

But now, the team at Harvard, led by Associate Professor Sujoy Mukhopadhyay, believe that they’ve found evidence to support that only part of the Earth melted, and that an ancient part still exists within the planet’s mantle.

According to Professor Mukhopadhyay: “The energy released by the impact between the Earth and Theia would have been huge, certainly enough to melt the whole planet. But we believe that the impact energy was not evenly distributed throughout the ancient Earth. This means that a major part of the impacted hemisphere would probably have been completely vaporized, but the opposite hemisphere would have been partly shielded, and would not have undergone complete melting.”

The team analyzed the ratios of noble gas isotopes from deep within the Earth’s mantle and compared the results to isotope ratios closer to the surface. They found that 3He to 22Ne ratio from the shallow mantle is significantly higher than the equivalent ratio deep within the mantle.

Professor Mukhopadhyay remarked: “This implies that the last giant impact did not completely mix the mantle and there was not a whole mantle magma ocean.”

Further evidence comes from analysis of the 129-Xenon to 120-Xenon ratio. Material brought to the surface from the deep mantle has a lower ratio than what’s normally found near the surface. Because 129-Xenon is produced by the radioactive decay of 129-Iodine, the isotopes place the formation age of the ancient section of mantle to within the first 100 million years of Earth’s history.

“The geochemistry indicates that there are differences between the noble gas isotope ratios in different parts of the the planet, and these need to be explained. The idea that a very disruptive collision of the Earth with another planet-sized body, the biggest event in our planet’s geological history, did not completely melt and homogenize the Earth challenges some of our notions on planet formation and the energetics of giant impacts. If the theory is proven correct, then we may be seeing echoes of the ancient Earth, from a time before the collision,” said Professor Mukhopadhyay.

Professor Richard Carlson of the Carnegie Institution Department of Terrestrial Magnetism stated: “This exciting result is adding to the observational evidence that important aspects of Earth’s composition were established during the violent birth of the planet and is providing a new look at the physical processes by which this can occur.”

The findings of the team at Harvard coincide with a German team’s findings supporting the theory that the Moon was formed 4.5 billion years ago after a catastrophic collision with a planet-sized mass.

What was this ancient Earth? Was there life there? We hope new findings about the ancient Earth will come out as quickly as possible, so we can discover more about the ancient history of our world.

The findings of the team at Harvard coincide with a German team’s findings supporting the theory that the Moon was formed 4.5 billion years ago after a catastrophic collision with a planet-sized mass.

I *almost* overlooked this news "discovery" (from blogger)...

(btw, aren't "Findings" AND "Theory" two totally separate concepts?)

How does anyone (or "geochemistry") validate the DATE of this supposed event, as well as the alleged TIMING?

The so-called "FINDINGS":

a) Moon Formation finding
b) Lunar Collision with a "planet-sized mass" finding
c) Finding of an Event that happened 4.5 BILLION YEARS ago (measured with surety)

Here is how the Lab Coats from Harvard and the German Team explained their discovery:

"[The] 3He to 22Ne ratio from the shallow mantle is significantly higher than the equivalent ratio deep within the mantle."

*nodding*

Not to be outdone, Professor Richard Carlson from the 'Carnegie Institution Department of Terrestrial Magnetism':

"This exciting result is adding to the observational evidence that important aspects of Earth’s composition were established during the violent birth of the planet and is providing a new look at the physical processes by which this can occur.”

No word on whether Prof Carlsen was sporting the lab coat (seen below) as he explained the "observational evidence" of that time he watched this Moon collision 4.5 billion years ago. (Hope this guy is never your court witness.)

The Strange “Hollow Earth” Case of Admiral Richard Byrd

“There comes a time when the rationality of men must fade into insignificance and one must accept the inevitability of the Truth! I am not at liberty to disclose the following documentation at this writing…perhaps it shall never see the light of public scrutiny, but I must do duty and record here for all to read one day. In a world of greed and exploitation of mankind can no longer suppress that which is truth.”

Medal of Honor recipient Admiral Richard E. Byrd allegedly wrote his encounter with a lost civilization in Antarctica. According to Hollow Earth theorists, Byrd met ancient race underground in the South Pole.

How was this left out from Byrd’s mission: Operation Highjump? Could it be one big hoax conspiracy theorists love to fantasize?

According to Byrd’s “diary,” the government ordered Byrd to remain silent for what he witnessed during his Arctic assignment:

March 11, 1947

“I have just attended a Staff Meeting at the Pentagon. I have stated fully my discovery and the message from the Master. All is duly recorded. The President has been advised. I am now detained for several hours (six hours, thirty- nine minutes, to be exact.) I am interviewed intently by Top Security Forces and a Medical Team. It was an ordeal!!!! I am placed under strict control via the National Security provisions of this United States of America. I am ORDERED TO REMAIN SILENT IN REGARD TO ALL THAT I HAVE LEARNED, ON THE BEHALF OF HUMANITY!!! Incredible! I am reminded that I am a Military Man and I must obey orders.”

Indulge me. The video is ten minutes. If you're attention ain't captured in 3 minutes then it ain't but if it is, if it is, it's only ten minutes.

The color coded time stamps of the ocean core samples are really neat imho but if you'll indulge me I offer you this for your consideration.

The Strange “Hollow Earth” Case of Admiral Richard Byrd, who, quote:

"I must do duty and record here for all to read one day. In a world of greed and exploitation of mankind can no longer suppress that which is truth."

Byrd was an honorable man...

YET, we've often noted what happens to honorable men and/or those who dare tell the truth about ANYTHING "un-approved" by "The Authoritahs".

Btw, BDB, I actually read all your links -- including "Hollow Earth" and Admiral Byrd's diary. (same of your link on Hollow Earth, Lod. Fascinating.)

This follow up on Admiral Byrd's Antarctica excursions and aftermath was also riveting.

So WHERE lies is THE Truth?? Is it 100%? 75%? 50%? 2%?

**NOTE: My initial objection and ridicule of the original submitted story (from Harvard), was about the MSM/Academe's usual conflation of blending Absurdity WITH Possibility, so that an entire premise gets discredited. Discard the BS (about the 4.5b moon-earth collision), and there IS some meat on that bone.

There actually is so much to discuss, but for now I'll quote only the one above; It is curious in that the same US Gummint who silenced Byrd on March 11, 1947 (see below), allowing him to first be a guest on a Longines-sponsored TV show in 1954, THEN in the next year 1955-1956, they STILL allowed Byrd to lead yet another expedition BACK to Antarctica in what was to be called, 'OPERATION: DEEP FREEZE.' (RIP Byrd in 1957.)

THIS is the entire interview. Watch Byrd's body language, reaction, and how carefully he answers questions. (at certain junctures he struggles to NOT divulge too much. Notice also how he tried to back-track on his "Uranium" comment.)

Impressions?

Admiral Byrd led FIVE expeditions to the Antarctica in total. WAS his diary legit? If so, it means our realm is definitely NOT what we've been told.

Byrd: (March 11, 1947)

“I have just attended a Staff Meeting at the Pentagon. I have stated fully my discovery and the message from the Master. All is duly recorded...

I am ORDERED TO REMAIN SILENT IN REGARD TO ALL THAT I HAVE LEARNED, ON THE BEHALF OF HUMANITY!!! Incredible! I am reminded that I am a Military Man and I must obey orders.”

Have you guys read any of the above link? (it helps if you are able to dismiss and disregard the entire NASA charade.)

Anyway...Mind-boggling.

So...

ARE the globe-MAPS and its obvious represented "ends" wrong? IS it possible we've been lied to by the PTB?

NO aircraft is allowed to fly directly over the North Pole. THAT is correct and true info.

NO aircraft is allowed to fly over Antarctica (and especially its alleged "Pole".) FACT.

FWIW, I own Giannini's book, "Worlds Beyond the Poles". Some of the content is plausible, some not; Maybe I'll have to review it again and re-examine given the additional corroboration by Byrd and his expeditions.

(I'll comment more in detail later...)

The truth?

WE DON'T KNOW.

No independent exploration has been permitted in Antarctica since 1959.

The gummints of the world expect us all to accept what we've been told (sound familiar??)

With respect to "depth," again, NOT KNOWN, no know measurement is possible.

With respect to "Expanding Earth," the extent of our realm is (incredibly) UNKNOWN.

NASA was created in 1958 to help dispel any and all notions and challenges to the Heliocentric model, and of course -- THE spinning "GLOBE".

They took ONE supposed photo of the earth from afar (The famous "EARTHRISE") during FIVE Apollo missions. Again: ONE single photo. THAT alone is beyond conspicuous, isn't it?

Any ideas on who/what was/is "the Master?"

I wondered about that as well. Turns out its an English "Honorific Title":

(From Wiki)

"Master":

for boys and young men, or as a style for the heir to a Scottish peerage. It may also be used as a professional title, e.g. for the master of a college or the master of a merchant ship.

(sea captain, ship's captain, captain, master, or shipmaster, is a high-grade licensed mariner who holds ultimate command and responsibility of a merchant vessel.)

Key phrase, "in that area".

The Arctic "area" is pretty vast. Yet still, no aircraft flies directly over the pole.

Why not?

The theory is the extreme magnetism emitted from the North Pole Area that could potentially affect electronic instrumentation.

('Aurora Borealis' is a demonstration of charged particles)

OF NOTE:

Polaris, aka "The North Star" is always ascended directly above the North Pole. IT DOES NOT EVER MOVE POSITION.

That makes it even more odd since Byrd was American.

Richard Evelyn Byrd was born on 25 October 1888 in Winchester, Virginia.

There were a couple decent explanations...UNTIL I arrived at this blatant disinfo:

"It is possible to fly over South Pole as well. In 1977, PanAm 747Sp flew over South Pole while flying from Sydney to Recife. However, South Pole does not lie on the great circle route for too many points."

Two obvious lies.

True, but supposedly today's GPS is unaffected by magnetism. (This is about to get over my pay grade.)

From everything I've read -- and yeah, toss Common Sense & Logic into that mix -- it's MAGNETISM issue that prevents North Pole air nav.

a) "Satellites" if anything fly in VERY Low Orbit.

b) Given GPS (of both earthed base and Low Orbit "satellites") pinpoint positioning, we'd have to assume it's far more effective further away from Polar magnetic interference.

(rhetorical): Has anyone actually verified whether GPS works within 50 miles of the magnetic North Pole?

The US military thought so highly of him that he led FIVE expeditions to the Polar regions. (yes, too bad things ended badly/mysteriously.)

Great, great, stuff, especially your witness for Christianity.

Thanks, brutha. I appreciate the kind words and encouragement.

Knowledge is great, knowledge is essential, knowledge is important -- BUT, is Knowledge THE most important thing in our lives? (remember how Eve was convinced by the Serpent that it indeed WAS above all else?)

More than ever these days, I believe we desperately need to share our witnessing for His Word, His Truth. What is more important than that?

As we've grown older, our priorities should change. Whence in youth we are more about ego, reproduction, our life's work, and personal accomplishment; This invariably (should) give way to wisdom, selflessness, and refinement of our faith (and His Truth.)

As we age, many of us also experience the inevitable -- the death of family and close friends. For me personally, the grieving process has especially been challenging -- but heart/spirit changing experience. That's made it a blessing.

The grieving process also underscores how important it is that we understand how relatively brief our "trial period" by our Lord and Creator is -- as well as our respective "mission" it is to understand His Word and/or share our scriptural understanding of His Grace and Gospel *before* our/their "deadline."

As those we love pass on, it is a further critical reminder to do so before those we love and know check out into their "Forever Home." As you know there are no Second Chances.

Why should the gummint(s) be relied on to be truthful about that when they obviously are not abut so much?

Esso...IF WE WANTED, the three of us still wouldn't even be able to conduct extensive research and investigation near the magnetic North Pole epicenter either.

Both the Arctic and (especially) Antarctic regions for some reason are considered largely verboten from independent research and exploration.

And have you tried to look up any information about how GPS works? ;)

Absolutely. (pretty convoluted, ain't it?)

At the Quora link, there are several divergent opinions and theories on just how GPS works. Quite a few from those considered in the "Science" field.

An odd claim has been made with respect to GPS reception in the deeper regions of the Southern Hemisphere. GPS is BLACKED OUT and doesn't work.

One theory/reason: GPS is mostly a land-based phenomena. In the vast stretch of the South Pacific, this claim might be valid.

That might have something to do with the positions of the satellites. ;)

That clearly can't be what he meant in his 'diary' (cf. 'Master Roddy MacDowell' -- credits to How Green Was My Valley). I guess we'll never know who he was referring to!

"I am reminded that I am a Military Man and I must obey orders” -- isn't that wonderful? Soldier's honor so often means shutting up about things that have to be crucial to your fellow ameriKans. A bobby-soxer I know married an recruit who 'served' in the War Of Terror. I asked what he reported about his experience. "There's a lot he was ordered to keep silent about," she says in an awed tone.

"War crimes against women and children," I thoughtfully replied. People today don't give a crap whether their kin are war criminals -- if they ever did.

Any ideas on who/what was/is "the Master?"

I'm re-reading some of Amadeo Giannini's book ('Worlds Beyond The Poles')...

He points out yet another theoretical definition or context of "Master" as Byrd mentioned the word.

"Master-Builder" -- as in, God.

Sir Hubert Wilkins Describes His Recent Antarctic Expedition (1928-1929)

(Very brief):

The Wilkins Antarctic Expedition:

https://www.south-pole.com/p0000106.htm

Meanwhile...

HERE is an excerpted account of Admiral Byrd's first Antarctic mission. You may find the details of the prep-logistics, struggles, and discoveries by Byrd's teams fascinating. Odd that they were conducted at nearly the very same time as Wilkins Team conducted theirs:

Byrd Antarctic Expedition I 1928-1930) *NOTE: (Assistance was provided for the selection of equipment by the US Navy, the New York Times and several corporations)

https://www.bibliotecapleyades.net/antarctica/highjump/great_antarcticexpedition04.htm

....The Byrd Expedition was the first American expedition to explore Antarctica since the U. S. Exploring Expedition under Charles Wilkes in 1840. The expedition launched a revival of interest in the Antarctic for Americans, an area much in the public mind during the early 1800's.

The exploring expedition organized by Richard E. Byrd in 1928 may be considered the first of the mechanical age of exploration in Antarctica. The program was the first of its kind to utilize the airplane, aerial camera, snowmobile and massive communications resources.

Although Sir Hubert Wilkins, on November 6, 1928, was the first to fly an airplane in Antarctica, he preceded Byrd by only ten weeks. (Byrd first flew on January 15, 1929). However, Byrd's flights, made with three planes (Ford monoplane, Fokker Universal and a Fairchild monoplane), were much more significant than Wilkins since they were made in higher latitudes and were tied in with ground surveys....

.....With help from the booster on the Fairchild, the engines on the Ford tri-motor were started and together both planes arrived back at Little America about midnight.

At 3:29 p.m., on November 28,1929, the FLOYD BENNETT took off from Little America on its historic first-flight over the South Pole. With Byrd as navigator, Harold June as co-pilot and radio operator and McKinley as aerial photographer, the heavily loaded plane proceeded to climb towards the Queen Maud Mountains. For purposes of navigation, magnetic compasses were useless so close to the South Magnetic Pole....

(I find the very last sentence on "navigation" curious...because finding -- never mind assuming a "South Magnetic Pole" existed was never proven... and does not exist.)

For what it's worth, I don't know who the actual author of this account was.

I find this hollow earth theory far more believable than flat earth.

Why one but not the other?

If SOME our realm is purposely misrepresented or stuff hidden, why not ALL?

Q: Why self-impose limits, questions and assumptions of our physical realm altogether to begin with?

IF one prefers only to deal with Science instead of considering Biblical descriptions/claims, here we go...

500 years ago, neither globe-earth advocates Copernicus or Galileo explored OR were aware of the extent of the Earthly Realm. THEY ASSUMED -- based on mathematical calculations and principles.... THAT WERE WRONG. (Gerard Hickson challenges past theories and proves it WRONG. Like politicians, don't ever expect Theoretical Scientists or Astronomers to admit they are gaslighting us.)

In his incredible, eye-opening book -- 'KINGS DETHRONED' -- Gerard Hickson *documents* the history of the evolution of astronomy. He followed it from the time of the Roman Empire up to the date his book was published (1922)...

...then he examined, researched and detailed what he proved were a series of monumental miscalculations that began in the second century B.C.

Given once the very foundation and baseline computations of "Astronomy" was corrupted, would it follow that the REST of the calculations well into the 20th century would also be erroneous? (Oh yes, I highly recommend the book.)

https://www.amazon.com/Kings-dethroned-Hickson-Gerrard/dp/B01FA690L8

Because the institutional high priests of "Science" were in so deep in the mire, instead of re-calibrating the astronomical/cosmological truth, they stood pat -- refusing to admit the blunder. (MOREOVER...To do so might cause people to turn BACK to believing Scripture and Genesis on the descriptions of Earth & The Heavens again.)

We all know this corollary: "SCIENCE" NEVER ADMITS THEY ARE WRONG. (Q's: When are they going to also admit their so-called "BIG BANG" is just a kook-"theory"?? Same of the "4.5 Billion year old Earth" & "16 billion year old Universe." Same of their unproven "Evolution". YET...THEY PRESENT ALL THESE THEORIES S "FACT" in school text books, PBS, and Museums. (Why again must it be assumed as "Fact" that our Earth is a "Spinning-Globe"?? Hickson helps discredit that notion/assumption. Yes, yes...NASA. Nope.)

Back on point...

IF...IF 'Hollow Earth' is even possible (and who knows? ALL we have is the supposed testimony of the esteemed Admiral Byrd), it means this entire realm (as we've been programmed NOT to re-consider) needs to be questioned and challenged AS DOES the politics and agenda of Institutional Earth/Space Science and entire field of Astronomy.

NASA was created in 1958 to help dispel any and all notions and challenges to the Heliocentric model, and of course -- THE spinning "GLOBE".

Wrong.

The civilized world has known the earth is a spherical planet orbiting the sun for over 500 years.

NASA was formed as a response to the Soviet space program that had just launched the first satellite into orbit, Sputnik.

There was a great fear that the Soviets would have a strategic and military advantage if the US didn't ramp up it's own space program and get a satellite, and later men, into orbit.

The Arctic "area" is pretty vast. Yet still, no aircraft flies directly over the pole.

That's a lie.

The theory is the extreme magnetism emitted from the North Pole Area that could potentially affect electronic instrumentation.

Older auto pilot systems that used compass headings would fail when crossing over the pole. That problem has been eliminated with the GPS based autopilot.

Polaris, aka "The North Star" is always ascended directly above the North Pole. IT DOES NOT EVER MOVE POSITION.

So it's why it's used to determine direction using the stars for navigation. It's just because it happens to be the center point of the northern hemisphere of the celestial sphere.

In the southern hemisphere of earth the Southern Cross constellation is used instead (since it sits near the center of the southern celestial sphere) as Polaris is over the equator's horizon.

Hint:

What does this prove?

That indicates the earth is a sphere and its surface is obviously curved.

a) "Satellites" if anything fly in VERY Low Orbit.

Some ORBIT in a low earth orbit, others don't, they travel in high orbits depending on their mission.

They don't "fly" as flying implies using lift to keep an aircraft in the air. In space there is no air.

BTW, I thought you didn't believe in satellites?

I actually did read through a few of the first chapters of that book.

Excellent...

If I understood correctly, the notion is that the speed of light was substantially miscalculated early on, and that therefore, all calcs based on that error are also very much wrong.

Not only miscalculations/errors on the speed of light, but on several other "established" dogmas of science and astronomy. The respective authors of many theories packaged as "Scientific Fact" are the science icons or "Kings" on whom the title of the book is ironically based.

Einstein's main mission, motives AND theories (including the Theory of Relativity) were specifically and thoroughly shredded. There are THREE entire chapters devoted to Einstein:

* EINSTEIN'S THEORIES EXAMINED
* EINSTEIN'S EVIDENCE
* RELATIVITY

I don't ask anyone to believe me. Only to research for yourself if you or others are so inclined

The flaw there is that the speed of light has been measured and re-measured numerous times, and will likely be measured again as new tech tools and engineering allow. The science community is always interested in getting as precise measurements as possible in all things.

There's no question that the goal of Science's "grunts" or researchers at the bottom to middle of the Science pyramid of influence are mostly honest & interested in precision.

But Ping -- at the top "they" already know the Truth. Their Elites just won't allow it or revelations that damage "Science" dogma to stand.

Precise measurement tools of both LIGHT and MOTION have already long been available. Science's (mostly Atheist) high priests have been sandbagging/hiding the Truth for far too long. Archaeology is another field that's been corrupted at the top.

The biggest casualty of Big-Science (a "religion" itself) -- and hijacking the entire field at the highest levels -- has been belief/faith in God.(see" 'Big Bang'/Evolution/Old Earth.) So yes, there has indeed been an MO, agenda at work.

(Btw -- do you believe the 'Science Community' at the High Echelon level is genuinely and actually, "always interested in getting as precise measurements as possible in all things."??)

If anything, the opposite agenda is proven to be in effect -- even on the painfully obvious.

Two quick (SJW) examples below expose the 'Science Community'. They even refuse to settle the definitive, honest science with "precision":

1) Gender
2) "Global Warming" aka "Climate Change"
(without even considering the Chemtrail Effect)

IF any are interested, I firmly believe you will find Hickson's research challenging if not eye-opening. He admits that *some* basic knowledge in Science would be helpful, but not necessary.

Please also take the brief time read Gerrard Hickson's entire preface:

There the reader is notified that..

"The author had "taken the unusual course of submitting the new and startling theories for the general public because responsible scientific societies" of the day (1922) in London, Washington and Paris, failed to deal with the detailed accounts of the work which he forwarded to them in the Spring of 1920."

"He believes that every newly-discovered truth belongs to the whole of mankind..."

So what else is new?

Like Tesla, Tucker and many other trailbrazers, even if/when the new guy on the block bucks the establishment while proving everyone ELSE wrong, they merely take him out or ignore the new discovery/invention/paradigm.

Btw...On Page 3 of the 'Kings Dethroned' PDF book is a very handy guide titled under "Reference Notes". Worth a look.

Not only miscalculations/errors on the speed of light, but on several other "established" dogmas of science and astronomy.

If the speed of light was wrong then radio, television, cellphones, and many other devices that depend on the FREQUENCY of light would not work.

Antennas of any radio band are designed to be a multiple of the WAVELENGTH of the FREQUENCIES they are going to be used for.

The WAVELENGTH of a radio wave is the SPEED OF LIGHT / FREQUENCY of the wave

Microwave wave guides are designed the same way, where the dimensions are multiples of the wavelength.

The speed of light is a factor used in many critical calculations used in engineering. If it were wrong many things wouldn't work.

Two quick (SJW) examples below expose the 'Science Community'. They even refuse to settle the definitive, honest science with "precision":

1) Gender 2) "Global Warming" aka "Climate Change" (without even considering the Chemtrail Effect)

Wrong.

Science does not follow social justice claims that there are more than two genders.

Your claim to the contrary is an outright lie.

As far as global warming, actual world known and respected climate scientists state that the global warming scare is a hoax and is not true. You won't see them allowed on TV though.

The ones who get on TV and say it is true are paid shills for the carbon tax recipients.

It's so refreshing, so delicious. Why doesn't every GD celeb come out with the exact same stuff? They all know what's what!

If you look back in time, you will see the Maunder Minimum when the Thames river in England froze over

It's not just that. Of course solar activity is a key factor in the earth's climate, but there is something else.

The tilt of the earth in relation to it's orbit around the sun fluctuates on a cyclic period. This could be why the southern hemisphere appears to be getting warmer, while the northern hemisphere appears to be getting colder.

During the last mini ice age, the earth's alignment with the other planets was very similar to what we are entering into as we speak.

Planetary gravitational forces and their effect on solar activity and solar wind might be another reason for this phenomenon.

Mini ice age

Actually I was close to the actual effect of the planetary positions being an underlying cause of the mini ice age, but it has to do with the gas giants pulling earth further away from the sun during winter in the northern hemisphere.

Here's a very good video that explains it.

The speed of light is a factor used in many critical calculations used in engineering. If it were wrong many things wouldn't work.

Yup.
