Chuck Schumer conceded this impeachment defeat that left Democrats in tears

Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked impeachment managers wrapped up their case.

Now the nation will hear from the President’s lawyers for the first time.

And just as the President’s defense got under way, Chuck Schumer conceded this impeachment defeat that left Democrats in tears.

The Democrats pegged all their hopes in a Senate impeachment trial on calling new witnesses.

That would extend the trial and give them a starting point for new investigations and new articles of impeachment.

At the outset, Democrats hoped they could persuade four Republican Senators to vote for new witnesses.

But after House Impeachment manager Jerry Nadler accused Senate Republicans of treason and engaging in a cover up by voting to delay possible witness testimony until after oral arguments, a period for Senators to ask questions, those hopes dimmed.

In an appearance on MSNBC Chuck Schumer appeared to waive the white flag of surrender.

“[H]ow it will have to happen is not one person doing it, but a couple of them. When they talk privately say, maybe we should do it and get a group together of five or six or seven, and they do it together. Is that certain to happen? Not at all. Is it more [likely] than not? I’d have to say no. It is not more [likely] than not. But do we have a chance, and if we keep fighting as hard as we’ve been fighting, might those chances improve? Yes,” Schumer stated on MSNBC.

One sign Democrats lost this fight was RINO Senator Lisa Murkowski expressing frustration that the House refused to engage in a court fight to compel witness testimony and was now asking the Senate to wade into the thorny issues of executive privilege and separation of powers.

“The House made a decision that they didn’t want to slow things down by having to go through the courts. And yet now they’re basically saying you guys gotta go through the courts. We didn’t, but we need you to,” Murkowski told the press. Republican Senators are beginning to realize that Democrats’ demands for witnesses are made in good faith.

Democrats just want to extend the trial for weeks or months so they can harm Donald Trump’s re-election prospects.

The last line of this article tells the whole truth about the Democrats motives. They are still put out over Donald acing out Hillary they cannot hide their disgust. The Founders were wise to give us the Electoral College.
