Pelosi Defies Senate's Authority, Says Even if Senate Votes To Acquit, Trump Won't Actually Be Acquitted

Pelosi Admits She Won't Honor Senate Acquittal of Trump

The Democratic Party is so deep in its Trump Derangement Syndrome that the things its leaders say and do often defy reason.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi stood in front of microphones on Thursday and declared that if President Donald Trump is acquitted by the Senate (a likely scenario), he will not actually be acquitted.

Pelosi was responding to a reporter who had asked what she would do in the case of the president’s acquittal.

The speaker stealthily avoided the question.

“We are right now prayerful and hopeful that the Senate will have the courage to hear the truth about the President’s action, and then we’ll see what we do next,” she said, according to a transcript on her website.

But when another reporter asked a similar question, Pelosi had one of her famous temper tantrums.

“When this is over, do you think that President Trump will be chastened and understand that he’s got a Congress watching him? Or will he be emboldened because the Senate will have acquitted him?” the reporter asked.

twitter.com/tomselliott/status/1222927871183900673

“Well, he will not be acquitted. You cannot be acquitted if you don’t have a trial, and you don’t have a trial if you don’t have witnesses and documentation and that,” Pelosi replied.

“I would hope that the Senators, if it comes to a tie, or if there’s a question of hearing testimony or receiving documents, would leave it up to the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court – Republican‑appointed, in a Republican majority court.

“I would think that they would have confidence in the Chief Justice of the United States. That’s really his title. And that’s interesting to me — that they’re afraid of breaking a tie with a Chief Justice of the United States.

“Does the President know right from wrong? I don’t think so. That’s all I can say to you,” she said.

The Constitution explicitly states that the Senate, not the Speaker of the House, has the sole authority to handle an impeachment trial of the president.

Pelosi’s work is done, but she is struggling to let go of the power she had when the House was conducting its impeachment inquiry.

Apparently, in her mind, not only is she the leader of the House; she is also the entire Senate and the Supreme Court too.

An acquittal is an acquittal. It is that simple. If and when the Senate acquits Trump, he will forever be acquitted.

That cannot stop the speaker and her colleagues from impeaching him again, but this one has been so destructive for their party that it just would not be wise.

All you need to remember is who started Prohibition, the Women's Temperance Union. ;)

Back then they at least had some good goals, e.g. stopping drunkenness -- today never. I don't even go along with Mothers Against Drunk Driving!

Removing the legal sales of alcohol opened the door to the start of the mob in many areas. The Outfit in Chicago, La Cosa Nostra in New York and other places like Kansas City. Vegas was a place the Outfit used and they would skim profits off the top at casinos. Frank Cullotta was in charge of the Outfit in Vegas. ;)

Absolutely right, B -- and this was a majorMAJOR advance for jew power. Bronfmans and no doubt other jew distillers made killings in bootlegging liquor to ameriKans. This made them vastly richer and money is power.

Anybody interested, search jewish distillers made fortunes bootlegging during prohibition in Yahoo. Please don't make me do the link -- don't throw me in the briar patch!

Also gave the US Police State a big boost. Lots of federal agents needed to enforce prohibition laws, including making sure that all the country's industrial alcohol was suitably poisoned. After prohibition was repealed, fedgov had to find jobs for all these agents -- as drug warriors, tax collectors, etc.

The link isn't so bad. This was the first hit. Edgar Bronfman was indeed big in Canadian distillery. ;)

Also gave the US Police State a big boost.

After Prohibition was repealed, they needed to find some place to put all those federal agents to work. So they made marijuana a Class One narcotic.

When I lived in Chicago in late 70s, this girl that lived across the street and was in High School, came to my front door one afternoon with her girlfriend.

she told me some guy tried to pick her up when she was walking home alone.

I said, "Let's go and we will look for this guy." We hop into my Blazer and take off toward the High School. We spot him a few blocks from the school I make U- turn and get behind him.

He pulls over on 4-lane near phone company building and waits for traffic to come. He pulled out in front of them.

I had to wait for a few cars to go past, but I caught him t gas station next to Post Office 4 blocks away.

The two guys in gas station didn't make a move. The girls got his tag number. I told them, "Write it down now and give it to Rick, the school cop.

They found out he lived right across the street from the High School. So they put a good looking blond lady cop out front.

He comes popping out the door and sees her. He walks up to her and says, "Hey baby, lets go upstairs and we can smoke a joint."

she gives the signal and they bust him. They go upstairs and find weed. He is sitting in the shitter when I find out about it. So I tell the guys in the hood, "Get some ball bats and let's go." '

We all pile into my Blazer and head toward the school. I point out the car and go around the block. They jump out and take all the windows out of the car all the way around. Then they run and jump back in the Blazer.

I see this guy again a month or two later doing the same thing, hitting on chicks walking alone down the street.

He pulls over on a street corner to get out of his car. I have this chick in the truck with me and I tell her, "Get down."

I pull up alongside him and shout, "Hey! I see you are still up to your old tricks." And I was out of there.

People like that do not change and if he has been in prison, they get rid of molesters in there real quick. ROTFLMAO!

This behavior is ingrained in them. Poor upbringing is likely the culprit. A good stint in the joint would be a permanent cure after Bubba had you as his bitch. :-O

There we are -- govt seeks to expand endlessly at all costs. I'm still reeling from the instant birth of DHS and the War Of Terror seemingly minutes after 9/11. They can't afford to maintain bridges, but when they want something the funds are unltd. DHS budget for last year was 47b, and "America has spent $6.4 trillion on wars in the Middle East and Asia since 2001, a new study says"

We've only had trillion-dollar national budgets since 1987, just 4 years before the WOT started

And they won't spend $3000 to deport an illegal alien who's going to receive 50 times that in direct benefits extorted from Americans. Not to mention the incalculable cost of the degraded quality of life for our posterity.

The PTB are literally the embodiment of evil. ameriKans' way of life is being openly destroyed -- why can't they see it and lose all respect and credulity for the prostiticians at the very least? If there's any justice anywhere, which I tend to doubt, US voters and taxpayers will have to answer for gutting humanity someday.

When I lived in Illinois, I knew this Swedish girl that was a Nanny. She stayed past her Visa. They caught her and sent her back to Sweden.

I always said, "Swedish Sandy had lips like cotton candy." LOL
