Because the cost of buying property, maintaining it, and covering property taxes has jumped, so have the costs of renting... even for the middle class.

This is due to legal and illegal immigration increasing the demand for housing. And wage increases discounted for inflation have been less than a tenth of one per cent of the increase in productivity.
