Meet the Clampett clan - There's Jed; the kind and intelligent patriarch (although lacking formal education) turned into an overnight millionaire through a stroke of luck. While he appears to be in a state of retirement, he is still frequently kept busy by trying to keep his family out of trouble and make peace with his neighbors. Then there is Granny; the matriarch of the clan who is mature, highly opinionated, paranoid of new-fangled ways and things. She considers herself to be highly educated (a self proclaimed Doctor of Hillbilly Medicine) and has difficulty understanding why anyone doubts her wisdom. Then there is Elly May; beauiful, but awkwardly naive. Apparently in her late teens or early twenties, she is considered an 'Old Maid' by the standards of her culture back in the mountains of her childhood. Last but not least, there is Jethro Bodine, the somewhat slow-witted nephew of Jed. He is constantly attempting to find a girlfriend by impressing them with his education.

Poster Comment:

This the episode in which Granny refers to the 'Civil War' as 'the war betwixt the Yankees and the Americans' -- etc etc.!

Why do people still love TBH so much?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Beverly_Hillbillies#Syndication

BECAUSE IT'S SO 'REAL', such rollicking fun, and makes such great points along the way. Really does!

When I was about 10 our family was on vacation in Mexico.

We were in a hotel lobby checking in and there was a television set tuned in to The Beverly Hillbillies. I didn't know they spoke Spanish.

The Beverly Hillbillies. I didn't know they spoke Spanish.

Donna Douglas would have looked good even speaking Pig Latin.

Good to hear from you, Fred.

LOVED Granny (Irene Ryan) and the BHB! She made the show.

She was at her best when cookin' up varmints like crawdads and possum stew, and the episodes that she played "Dr. Granny".

The Beverly Hillbillies (a Top Show till the very end) -- along with the hilarious Green Acres and Petticoat Junction -- were unceremoniously eliminated as part of CBS's "Rural Purge".

They were good-natured, funny escapism that the entire family could watch together.

What replaced it?

The so-called "real world" that wound up as toxic seeds of the SJW Agenda (MASH, All In The Family, Mary Tyler Moore) :-/

You'll appreciate this mini-doc on the Beverly Hillbilies:

You have said a mouthful there, bro! Amen!

The critics' lambasting of the show was itself a perfect illustration of the show's premise. The Rural Purge was a declaration by the NYC and Hollywood studio bigshots that they hate reality, they hate the countryside, they hate fun, they hate THE PEOPLE GROWING THEIR FOOD.

Ir thrills me that TV watchers are still showing these plutocratic kabbalists and Bernaysian brainwashers what's what. These moguls and networks aren't even in the business to make money (the factor they claim for all unpopular decisions since then), THEY ARE IN IT TO JEW US TO DEATH.

If you can take Jerry Springer, he's treating them right well here:

As would naturally be expected, Jethro the jew comes off least well -- by far.

Yup. Bullseye right there. These globalist/Urbanist terrorists hated Middle America/Fly Over Country even then.

Hear ya. And agree. People still recognize goodness, real humor, and virtue (while also knowing exactly who and what have been corrupting the culture.)

Great back-story, thanks for the info and the memories.

I saw Jed Clampett in tux and tails at one of the Inaugural Balls in January 1989. And Chuck Norris too!

I was one of those military potted plants selected for my good looks. I had to dress up too.

Did you know Buddy Ebsen was supposed to be the Tin Man on the Wizard of Oz but he had an allergic reaction to the silver make up? ;)

Jerry Springer

I was in NYC in the truck once in late 90s. I walked up the hill to find a restaurant. There was a Marquee that read, "THE JERRY SPRINGER SHOW". I always thought he was a freak and someone told me he still is a freak. ;)

"Jerry Springer" is synonymous with "FREAK" and "FREAK SHOW". What a horribly evil human being.

By doing so, that despicable tool and his handlers helped introduce and flout the worst of mankind as "entertainment", destroying traditional America and the notion of "normal."

Amen!

Springer's ilk took down the "corny," sunny humor of the Beverly Hillbillies, Gomer Pyle USMC, and Green Acres, replacing them with the eventual darker salacious shows.

Also notice how they began glorifying human greed, weakness and corruption as seen in the Jerry Springers, Jenny Joneses, shows featuring divorced families with wise-cracking brats, and The Kardashians? Yes...ALL part of being PROGRAMMED.

They found the lowest common-denominator and then took the square root of that for programming, and now, it's gone even lower. Unwatchable here.

And talk shows are another field where the sheeple should be picking up the reek of semitism -- the Chosen almost monopolize it. Besides the obvious, I hear S. colBERT' is jew and think and Phool Donahue or Jack Paar could easily have had a schlemiel in the woodpile.

When this guy's TV show was produced in Chicago, I knew a girl who was a bartender at Willow on Wagner in Northfield. She told me that guy would walk in and look around waiting for someone to recognize him. What a schmuck. ;)

NASCAR team owner and semi-retired driver, Tony Stewart, had a pet pig named PorkChop. Probably EweToob videos out there.

I guess the big news in NASCAR Nation is that Tony is going to run in the Xfinity race at the Indianapolis Speedway Roadcourse on July 4th.

Tony is an Indiana native, as is Ryan Newman, who was pretty badly injured in this year's Daytona 500 on the last lap. Really looked like a replay of the 2001 Daytona 500 when Dale Earnhardt died on the last lap in what looked like a minor crash.
