What maintenance dose of Vit-C do you use/recommend? and in what form?
I take 1G (1000 mg) minimum daily, usually the kind of tablet with rose hips. I also eat a lot of fresh apples, bananas, and oranges, along with frozen mangos, strawberries, blueberries and cherries. I buy the organic fruit at Walmart.
When I got bit by a poisonous brown recluse spider I took 10 grams a day, about a 1000 mg every hour. The health person treating me said I made a remarkable recovery with very little tissue damage. (I also took other natural supplements as well as some topical treatments and soaking in Epsom salts baths).
Edit: PS before I figured out what bit me, I was miserably sick for a week. After I upped my dose and added the other things I got to feeling better in just a few days, although the wounds took nearly two months to heal.
I personally take the cheap stuff apart from my two doses a day of New Chapter. I take 3 grams a day of the cheap stuff and half a gram of the high quality New Chapter which compares to Mega Food C. I never get sick. I also take D-3 10,000 IU daily.
People in my apartment building are getting the flu all the time. My niece in her 30s got the flu twice last winter. But she is exposed to kids and at work. She does eat sugar by the 5 pound bag.
