CNN Analyst Guarantees Trump Will Dump Pence as Running Mate, Floats Conspiracy Theory

CNN Analyst Floats Wild Coronavirus Conspiracy About Trump and Pence

A CNN pundit is reviving a conspiracy theory that President Donald Trump is just waiting for the right time to dump Vice President Mike Pence and replace him with former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley.

During an appearance at the American Israel Public Affairs Committee’s conference on Monday, CNN contributor Paul Begala, when asked as part of a roundtable discussion to make a bold prediction, let loose.

“This is not a prediction. It’s a certainty,” he said.

“On Thursday, July 16 — that’s the date the Democrat gives her or his acceptance address — on that day, to interrupt that narrative, Donald Trump will call a press conference at Mar-a-Lago. He’s going to dump Mike Pence and put Nikki Haley on the ticket to try to get those suburban moms,” Begala, a strategist with former President Bill Clinton’s 1992 campaign, predicted.

“You watch. Guaranteed. Trump put Pence in charge of coronavirus to throw him under the bus,” he said, referring to Pence’s hot-button role as the head of the federal task force responsible for the response to the coronavirus.

The comments created a stir on Twitter:

Given the extreme level of support Trump has, he won't do any such thing. If it's not broke, don't fix it.

I agree Pin, we hear so little about Pence, he must be as benign as a fluffy pillow. Why change that?

No doubt on that one. Pence brings in all of the good Christians who might otherwise vote Democrat.

But my sister in Chicago told me she could not vote for Obama even tho she had voted Democrat her whole life. So she voted for McCain.

I told her, "You still voted for evil. BOTH candidates were members of Council of Foreign Relations and BOTH were internationalists."

It must be nice owning both horses in a two horse race. BTW, I voted for Ron Paul since he was best candidate on the ticket. ;)

Same here. That Ron Paul got so little of the Republican vote and was opposed so fiercely by the Republican establishment says all that needs to be said about that sordid squad.

In the spring of 2011 Rand Paul called me and told me that his dad was thinking about running for president, and asked me how much support I thought he would get from the Republicans in my Southern state.

"Not a whole lot", I imagined.

"Well, how about from the Constitutionalists and the Libertarians?"

"Oh, I think all eleven of us will vote for him."
