I knew it -- eventho the offshoring of ameriKa was already underway then. Remember shirts with "assembled in Malaysia" or "made in Guatemala" on the label? I don't read 'em anymore because I only buy 2nd-hand -- and the pickings are lousy enough either way.

Which will be interesting, because the quality of stuff in thrift stores has gone way down with everything else since 2008.
