Surely any country can do better than this? Maybe Holland will lead the way -- they're going for peak infection or whatever it's called and are already the darkest country I've seen in the wikid charts

Dutch are educated. They have the best agricultural universities. Very few are that smart. Locking farm workers out of the fields was not a bright idea.

Holland

I met this girl here who was from Switzerland. I told her the main reason Hitler never tried to invade Switzerland was because of the Schutzstaffel, the Shooting Staff.

She said, "Oh you know about them?" And then she added, "But we were neutral."

I said, "So was The Netherlands but the Nazis still invaded them." ;)

because of the Schutzstaffel, the Shooting Staff.

Explain that to me please. The SS was a Nazi outfit, right?

BTW, DS sez Sweden isn't locking down either. That makes 3 pretty important countries

Explain that to me please. The SS was a Nazi outfit, right?

Yes, the SS was a Nazi outfit.

But the Schutzstaffel were the armed citizens of Switzerland.

Though Switzerland was neutral, Hitler realized that because of the Schutzstaffel it would be futile to try and invade them.

The Soviets invaded Finland. The Finns were armed with rifles. The Soviets took heavy losses but still fell into the Soviet orbit.

Holland was also neutral. The Nazis invaded them and occupied them. But the Dutch citizens were not armed. This lead to their occupation by the Nazis. ;)

BTW, Heinrich Mueller, former Chief of Gestapo, escaped to Switzerland at the end of the war.

U.S. representatives went there in 1946 to interrogate him. They asked him about Hitler. Mueller replied, "You could try Spain." Then he added, "Perhaps the Russians can go to Barcelona and ask Franco about him. They might tend up buried in an orange grove." Then he told the Americans, "And if you went there you might end up in the next orange grove over."

They brought Mueller from Switzerland to the U.S., gave him a rank of Major in the U.S. Army and he played the piano for Harry Truman.

The reason they brought Mueller to the U.S. is because his specialty was Soviet counter-intelligence. And we all know where the Soviet Union is today. ;)

Very interesting -- thank you. Those were the days when Spain was an actual country and bad ppl going there could end up fertilizer. Mueller sounds like a great guy! I feel sorry for Finland, being perpetually stuck to the once and future USSR.

Just think, if the jew fatcats' mansions had covered enuff of Europe the Allies wouldn't have bombed, and if everybody was Swiss Hitler wouldn't have invaded anybody ;)

Hitler wouldn't have invaded anybody

When Germany annexed the Sudetenland, the foreman I had at the State Highways was Johann Kraus. He volunteered for the Waffen SS when that happened.

His father complained to his camp commander that he was being treated too harshly in boot camp. He was arrested as a dissenter and sent to the camps in Germany. The last I heard old Kraus had still not found a trace of him.

Kraus lived in Skokie. That is where the Jews lived before they moved up and out. Skokie was way south in the area.

One night I was out on Night Patrol and a snow squall blew in off the lake and turned everything white.

So I called for my back up. When Kraus came out he called me on the radio and said, "Where is the snow?"

I told him, "It's up north John. Come on up here?"

It took two of us the rest of the night to clean things up. ;)

Not too sure. But maybe those who were not in the big money are still there.

When I was a kid and living there on Central Park, my dad worked across the street at Rand McNalley as a Lithographer.

My best friend down the street was named Sherwin. He might have been Jewish but it was so long ago I do not recall. ;)

From the look on that one boy's face the girl must have had a sweet kiss.

Likely much the same as the Swedish girl I knew in Illinois. She was a Nanny. She stayed past her visa. They caught her and sent her back to Sweden.

I always said, "Swedish Sandy had lips like cotton candy." LOL

Speaking of food. I'd thought I'd pass this along. I buy the organic milk from Wally's and it comes in a heavy duty plastic gallon jug. I guess if you're going to pay 6 buck for a gallon of milk you want to "feel" like your getting something.

Anyway, I have been using the empties to store water and dried foods that I want to keep the bugs out of. I have big sealed buckets for beans and other big bulk items, but the gallon jugs are great for smaller quantities. A 5 lb bag of flour all fits into one jug. Paying $8 for organic whole wheat, I don't want it full of maggots or moisture.

I saw three different people on Yahoo the other day talking about "drug attics".

“I am not one of those weak-spirited, sappy Americans who want to be liked by all the people around them. I don’t care if people hate my guts; I assume most of them do. The important question is whether they are in a position to do anything about it. My affections, being concentrated over a few people, are not spread all over Hell in a vile attempt to placate sulky, worthless shits.” - William S Burroughs

I'm not saying fire anybody. I just don't expect teaching results from idiots, and that goes for a lot of public school teachers too. Frankly I think kids who aren't benefiting from schooling, home or public, should go to work as an apprentice or even just a laborer.

Which reminds me -- some of us had a hilarious time here a few years ago cataloging outrageous apostrophical abuses.

Here's a highlight:

Horrors!

Loud car radios used to be a huge problem in cities. I once found myself following one froven by a young whigger and noticed he'd glued huge letters neatly across his back window: IF IT'S TO LOUD, YOU'RE TO OLD.

For some reason this is one hellish problem that's almost completely stopped. My nabers say it's because they're all listening to their phones now -- something like that.

I once saw a batch of T shirts misprinted for COLUBMUS DAY. The guy who printed it could probably care less, for all intensive purposes. But it like to give me a hearty tack.

BS. If it's too expensive, too far away or too heavy, then you're old.

Ask me, gettin' old sucks. I ignore the spelling stuff, etc. I'm old.

I just need a good babuska to hold me at night.

Ah, the subject of bloopers that make it thru mfg to consumers -- big fun. I once saw a church pledge envelope for Easter on which a familiar phrase was misprinted His Is Risen :-x

On grubby, hasty Rt. 1 near where I lived all those years in Joisey a big garage went to the trouble of putting a huge promotional gimmick up on top a tall pole -- an entire car upside down to illustrate the punning sign message above it: DOES YOUR CAR TURN OVER IN THE MORINING?

I'm sure that very large and high sign proudly read MORINING for 40- 50 years. Prolly still does! Must be an easy mistake to make -- that spelling gets 267k google search results ;)
