The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has authorized SpaceX to begin rolling out as many as 1 million of the ground antenna the company will need to connect users to its Starlink satellite internet network. Starlink is SpaceXs plan to build an interconnected network, or constellation, of about 12,000 small satellites, to provide high-speed internet to anywhere in the world. The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) is supposed to protect the public from the telecom industry. A paper published earlier this year suggests they may have broken environmental law when they approved SpaceXs Starlink Mega Constellation (approximately 42,000 spacecraft!). But breaking laws, harming the public, and frying the planet dont seem to be of any concern to the FCC. In fact, they seem to be on everybodys shit list except the telecom industrys (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16).
Astronomers and other scientists have also been issuing catastrophic warnings about what Elon Musk and his company are doing (see 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7).
But the billionaire has been slammed by astronomers for the disgusting project which they claim is a crime against humanity.
Does it seem like Elon Musk gets whatever he wants regardless of the consequences? Certainly, the U.S. government is in a position to receive constant funding and support regardless of the circumstances.
