In the movie Avatar, Earth's military forces were tasked with securing access to the extremely unobtainable "unobtainium", minable sources of which were located in the very sacred land controlled by the, well, Avatarians or whatever they were called.
Numerous political parallels aside, it is a good movie IMO.
