I am sure Putin recalls when the Serbia/Bosnia war was going on back in the early 90s. The U.S. bombed and dropped all the bridges over the Danube River. This stopped the flow of cheap Russian oil to French and German refineries. They figured it would take ten years to fish the bridges from the river.
