Hillary Takes Two Swings at Trump Over Wuhan Virus Response, But Still Misses

2 weeks ago Rushmore Daily

Hillary Clinton must be getting antsy in her home, because she certainly was concentrated on trying to attack President Donald Trump over the response to the Wuhan coronavirus on Thursday.

First, she tweeted out a picture of nurses allegedly at Mt. Sinai West in New York City allegedly having to wear garbage bags as part of their protective gear.

First the report Clinton cited suggested that the hospital apparently had an issue with being short on supplies for a year now (in other words, not because of the Wuhan coronavirus) and suggests that supplies were disappearing. It’s not clear how Trump is supposed to be responsible for that and not the hospital who’s supposed to be responsible for their own supply.

Additionally, both the hospital and Governor Cuomo claimed that the hospital had sufficient personal protective equipment for the workers. Apparently Hillary didn’t feel like she scored enough of a hit with the first story so she tried again, this time with a more pointed attack. It’s sad, really, that she’s still four years on, so mad and still so locked up (see what I did there) with anger about losing.

First of all, she’s citing some insane graph pulled out of the air by the NY Times that doesn’t match any reality based on the information we have at this point. 128 million cases by the end of the month? It’s not happening. Secondly, Trump didn’t say he was going to relax strictures in 14 days, he said they were going to look at the end of the month to see where we were in relation to the virus and if they’d felt we’d sufficiently flattened the curve. Then they might look at the concept of isolating the more at risk people and let some of the rest of us out in a limited fashion.

A president not only has to look at the medical question but also the economic questions and the huge damage to American lives as well, to jobs that might never come back. So it’s a fine balancing act. But Trump did not set a 14 day deadline and say everything was going to reopen.

So not only is Hillary misrepresenting that, she’s trying to tell Trump how to do his job, bitter that she will never have the job.

But how fortunate that is for us.
