Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear (D) urged residents to remain indoors for the Easter holiday and mandated that anyone who breaks the state's stay-at-home order will have to self-quarantine for two weeks.

Beshear will enforce his state's laws by recording the license plates of any person attending Easter services or other gatherings. The residents will then receive quarantine notices in person.

"This is a time and weekend, a whole week for multiple faiths, that is about faith. It's about knowing we have faced as people - as Christians, as Jews, as members of many faiths - many difficult, dark times, and we have prevailed," Beshear said Friday. "We know that the weeks or the months ahead will be difficult. We know that there are going to be tougher days before there are easier days."

"This is the only way we can ensure that your decision doesn't kill someone else," he added.

Beshear said the state government is only aware of six churches that are planning to hold in-person services for Easter. Those attending any gathering will be charged with a misdemeanor violation of the emergency orders issued by the governor and Kentucky Department for Public Health.

"I want to encourage you to meet together separately this Sunday, to remind you that on that first Easter Jesus came to people behind locked doors," Chris Michael, pastor of the First Christian Church, Disciples of Christ, said. "He will come to you as well."

The announcement comes as a handful of churches around the country buck state orders, drawing national headlines with controversial in-person services.

Kentucky has had nearly 1,700 confirmed coronavirus cases and 90 deaths.

Public officials have credited social distancing measures with helping slowly curb outbreaks in a number of states and have warned that reversing such practices could lead to a dangerous COVID-19 resurgence.

However, Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul (R) slammed Beshear's order, saying he needs to "take a step back."

"Taking license plates at church? Quarantining someone for being Christian on Easter Sunday? Someone needs to take a step back here," Paul, a staunch libertarian, tweeted.

Aren't the liquor stores still open in Kentucky?

If so, then I guess churches could hold their services in the parking lot? Well, maybe all but the Baptists -- my neighbor says that Baptists don't recognize each other at the liquor store.

Yes, they were declared essential. On the second day they were called beverage stores.

I still get my daily ration. hiccup!

I still get my daily ration. hiccup!

When we worked concert security in Chicago at the smaller venues and we would catch them with beer or booze in the line we would take it from them since public drinking was not allowed.

One day I was walking the line at the Vic Theater. I spot a paper sack in the litter basket. I open it up and it has most of a 12 pack in it. It is my brand, so I pick up the sack and start to walk away.

This guy in the line hollers, "Hey!" I said, "Hey what? It's MY beer."

If I had caught him with it in the line it would have been mine anyway. ROTFLOL

I've got news for you -- he did exactly right. That guy got better than he deserved for being so stupid and common as to attend a rock concert.

That guy got better than he deserved for being so stupid and common as to attend a rock concert.

One time were working a concert at The Pavilion. This was the rec hall for U of C Circle Campus on near west side along the Eisenhower Epwy.

Some guy got down in the front row that did not belong there and people were complaining. I asked him if he had a ticket. He said to me, "Man, I'm on dust." (Angel Dust)

I said to him, "Are you really? You just stay there and be cool."

A few minutes later some Usher comes along and starts messing with the guy. I said, Hey man, don't mess with him. He's on dust."

The Usher said, "I don't care what he's on. He's got to go."

I said, "OK, but it's your funeral." ROTFLOL

Why on earth did you tell him he could stay?

And do you know where I could get me some dust? Just kidding ;)

It wasn't worth the hassle to get him out of there. Angel Dust is a hallucinogen. It makes you think you have superhuman strength. So I took the easy way out. He wasn't making a ruckus, he was just standing there. ;)

Pretending with all the rest of them that the extreme volume levels didn't bother him.

the extreme volume levels didn't bother him.

I was working a concert on the north side at Rosemont. I knew this girl in the guest section. She said to me, "What kind of drugs are you doing?"

I said, "What are you talking about?"

She said, "What are those orange things?" "Those are ear plugs. What are you thinking?" LOL

Another time I was working a concert at Medusa's. I was standing in front of the speaker stack. An older woman came from in back. She looked right at me and said, "You good looking man. If you're staying in town, you're staying with me." Then she kissed me right on the lips.

That was the last I seen of her. I figure she went to the bus and passed out.

Medusa's was a juice bar and most of the crowd was young and underage, like the band members. The band members were young enough they needed a chaperone. It was usually Mom.

One time I was walking the line at Medusa's. This kid had a plastic pop bottle and was trying to hide it behind his leg. I said, "Let me see that."

I unscrewed the cap and smelled it. It was straight Jack. I said, "No. You can't have this." Like I said, it was a juice bar and that kid was too young to have liquor anyway. I figured he likely got it at home. If he was holding it like a regular soda I might not have noticed. LOL

Good thing he didn't cause any trouble or he would have been barred from coming into the place. LOL
