Who will step in at the last moment to try and rescue the Presidency for the Democrats?
You have been around the block a few times Cyni and have seen much.
My Grandfather worked for the Republican Alderman in Chicago's 47th ward, John Hoellen. He was the lone Republican in the City Council and a thorn in the side of the Democrat machine. He always said he was "the good Democrat among us". ;)

USA! USA! USA! Bringing you democracy, or else! there were strains of VD that were incurable, and they were first found in the Philippines and then transmitted to the Korean working girls via US military. The 'incurables' we were told were first taken back to a military hospital in the Philippines to quietly die. 4um
I worked for the Republican Committeeman in the 40th Ward where we moved to after we left my Grandfather's house when he passed away.
One day I was walking past his office and he waved me inside. He asked if I was working. I told him I was not.
So he said, "I will get you a job." He told me to get my license to drive trucks and that I could rent a truck for $50 at a certain place for the day to take the road test.
After I got the license, he said I should go to the the State of Illinois building downtown and take the test for Highway Maintainer.
I did and there were a bunch of black guy there who were taking the test. They were scratching their heads. It was a common sense test.
I was the 3rd or 4th to finish. You had to get an "A" on the test and I did.
I got my letter of appointment to report to Northbrook yard. When I walked into the office I handed the letter to the Lead, Lead Worker.
He read it and said, " We haven't had a Probation here in three years."
When I got my first evaluation I was graded as "Exceeds Expectations".
It was all downhill after that.
When I left there after 18 years, I started to drive trucks OTR and did that even after I moved to Missouri. At one point I was driving cross country. It was a hard and lonely life. ;)
