Indeed they were planning it.

I worked with a guy that was in the Marines in late 60s. He was stationed at Khe Sahn. He told me he had to call in Napalm strikes on their own positions since they were nearly over run.

He showed me a scar on his lower back where Napalm burned thru his flack jacket. :-/

Just great. Is he aware that he and all his buddies were cynically used in that war, that it was just fatcats' fun and games using soldiers as game pieces? Perhaps he's heard Kissinger's now infamous quote.
