I don't know about you, but I'm going outside to get a smoke, maybe a drink, before I go to bed. I know bacon's out of the question.

Morality is rare in the USA. That is because we have been taught to obey, regardless. In fact, we have been taught that whenever the government gives orders, disobedience is criminal.

I'm allowed to smoke in my house.

I'm planning on a cigar/poker room on the porch of my retirement home. I'll clean up my act a bit. Also, a rocking chair on the front porch. And a golf cart to visit the mailbox.

That's a great quote and meme -- David Dees is seriously ill, so we may need ppl to carry his kind of genius forward.

Can't remember the lastime I heard a Mencken quote that wasn't resoundingly true. If only he'd lived long enuff to explore

I'm allowed to smoke in my house.

Me too, but this little joint I'm in already smells bad enough.

And a golf cart to visit the mailbox.

For the last several years of her life, my mama lived in a big sprawling retirement village on the Gulf Coast of Florida. Many of the residents had golf carts, and I noticed that those who were cruising around in their E-Z-Gos seemed -- on average -- happier than those who were walking (or shuffling). But Mom would never let my brother and me buy her a golf cart; I guess she thought it would make her look old or something.

My grannie walked at least two miles a day. She made it to 109, so that's something I should keep in mind, not that I plan to live forever, but it's a healthy thing. Oatmeal too.

Yes, walking is good for every fiber of your being, and people who walk more are healthier and tend to live longer. No question about that.

Oatmeal is good, but I usually dose it with ungodly amounts of butter and brown sugar.

Butter on oatmeal? You ain't right.

We used milk and sugar, maybe brown sugar on occasion.

Undoctored oatmeal is awful. Add plenty of butter, whole milk, sugar, cinnamon, buttered home-baked bread on the side, and it becomes a heavenly experience. imo

Bleagh, all that junk! Just mix in raisins while it's cooling and you've got a sweet delicious healthy natural bowl.

I can see some raisins working there.

Do you use the "instant" individual oatmeal?

Which reminds me of My Cousin Vinnie.

I guess so -- just pour the Quaker stuff. Know the brand is criminal and all, but what can you do.

Remember -- ONLY raisins. All you need.
