Philly's Going Ape-shit Now

That's nothing new, but throwing A/C units from high-rises is clever.

Maybe someone should tell the leftys that chlorofluorocarbons are bad for the environment. Wait... What?

(Edit) Maybe the white supremacists haven't made their deliveries of pallets of bricks and highway flares there yet.

I think MOVE came up with that tactic, c. 1985. Didn't end well.

Oh, so that's what caused global warming.

Damn! WANE.com cut off their live-stream of the riots downtown.

Do I qualify for reparations?

FWIW, the whiff of tear gas in the air is making my cigs taste really funny.

I have a friend in upstate NY, she is dealing with riots and a tornado, and their riot feed got cut too.

Philly's Going Ape-shit

I was in Philly with the straight truck in late 90's. After I made my delivery, I pulled out of the dock and went inside to use the rest room.

When I came out some cop had tagged the truck for parking on the curb. I threw the ticket away. About two months later they sent the boss a dun for $100. He told me, "Next time you get one of these, give it to me."

Damn cops are nothing but revenue generators, especially when the vehicle has out of state plates. :-/

I bet that does not help them with their Comprehensive Annual Financial Reports.

Yep, remember it like it was yesterday. Stay well and heal.

LOL, watching ABC News on TV, live feed from DC covering protests outside White House. Basically ABC affiliate hired bouncers to push away the nogs that keep running up behind reporter to flash gang signs.

I returned from the hospital mid-day last Monday and the tellie has remained dormant since I shut it down the previous Monday. Not sure that I'm missing much of anything...

Missed nothing.

Not had TV in years.

TV has now become a baby sitter for adults. Shame

Great! We ditched ours in 1986.

This was the first time I'd had it on antenna for probably two years, I barely watch anything these days, and when I do it is either South Park or Andy Griffith.

Andy Griffith

Better days, for sure. I remember the episode where Andy and his lady friend went crow hunting, and she smoked him.

I saw a picture of Boko Haram rebels in Nigeria a few years back.

They were wearing crossed bandoliers the same way gang bangers would style their sweaters in Chicago. ;)

People are the same no matter where they live. Apparently that's also true of similar species.

My last TV was a 19 inch picture tube type.

Gave it away many years ago.

My sister scored us a late 60's or early 70's TV out of the dumpster behind the Holiday Inn she worked at after they replaced them wholesale.

Kept the back cover off and ran it with a cheater cord so I could tap all the tubes with a long wooden dowel rod every so often as needed to restore the vertical sync.

restore the vertical sync.

Likely you and I are only ones here that know what you are talking about.

The ""TUNER"" was a rotating drum with 24 removable strips in it used to select 12 channels. My first one was a huge ten incher that weighted a ton.
